交叉关联噪声与时间延迟对肿瘤细胞生长过程的影响

运用随机数值模拟方法,研究了内噪声和外噪声驱动的时滞Logistic模型描述的肿瘤细胞生长系统的瞬态性质.数值模拟结果表明,噪声间的关联强度λ、系统的延迟时间τ、乘性噪声强度α的增大均能使系统的平均首通时间T下降,即加速肿瘤细胞的消亡过程,降低系统的稳定性;在时间延迟与关联噪声的相互作用下,随着τ的增大,出现了τ抑制λ和α对肿瘤细胞衰减过程加速作用的现象;此外,噪声间的负关联也能抑制较大的τ和较小的τ对T的影响.     

A Simple Equation to Predict a Subscore's Value

Subscores are often used to indicate test‐takers' relative strengths and weaknesses and so help focus remediation. But a subscore is not worth reporting if it is too unreliable to believe or if it contains no information that is not already contained in the total score. It is possible, through the use of a simple linear equation provided in this note, to determine if a particular subscore adds enough value to be worth reporting.     

An NCME Instructional Module on Subscores

The purpose of this ITEMS module is to provide an introduction to subscores. First, examples of subscores from an operational test are provided. Then, a review of methods that can be used to examine if subscores have adequate psychometric quality is provided. It is demonstrated, using results from operational and simulated data, that subscores have to be based on a sufficient number of items and have to be sufficiently distinct from each other to have adequate psychometric quality. It is also demonstrated that several operationally reported subscores do not have adequate psychometric quality. Recommendations are made for those interested in reporting subscores for educational tests.

Self-efficacy and literacy: a paired difference approach to estimation of over-/under-confidence in mathematics- and science-related tasks

Subject-specific self-efficacy is a measure of confidence in one’s own ability to complete tasks related to that subject. This confidence does not necessarily reflect actual ability in the subject and can be an over- or underestimate of true ability. We use nationally representative samples of 15-year-old students from the US to measure the degree of over-/under-confidence in mathematics and science, and explore its relationship with student demographic characteristics such as gender, grade and race. Our results suggest that white students consistently underestimate their ability, whereas black and Hispanic students consistently overestimate it. This pattern in over-/under-confidence persists even after controlling for student and school level differences. Implications are discussed.     

Shifting Deficit Paradigms of Latino Emerging Bilingual Students’ Literacy Achievement: Documenting Biliterate Trajectories

The purpose of this single-subject longitudinal study was to examine the Spanish and English biliterate development of U.S. Latino Spanish/English speaking students, who we call emerging bilingual students, as they participated in an innovative biliteracy instructional program titled Literacy Squared®. Findings indicate that across the three years of the study, participating students made gains in Spanish and English reading and writing. This study provides support for Literacy Squared as an innovative biliterate program. Further, the study provides evidence for the need to consider alternative methods to document Latino Spanish/English students’ biliteracy development such as through the use of biliterate trajectories.

分析了中国现当代小说中人物配置的“尚三”倾向,认为产生这种倾向的原因是中国文化心理中存在着典型的“中庸”意识,它不仅是儒家学派的伦理学说,更是国人对待整个世界的一种看法。指出“中庸”的实质即是一种三分世界的意识,也是中国现当代小说中人物配置“尚三性”的哲学根源。

对于任意的正整数n,我们用S（n）表示Smarandache函数,即S（n）=min{m：n｜m!,m∈N},文章主要利用初等方法和解析方法,研究Smarandache函数∧（n）S（n）、∧2（n）S（n）的混合均值性质,获得了两个较强的渐近公式．     

儒家的哲学品质与现代性问题

无论是渴望实现自身的儒学,还是作为未完成态的现代性,它们内在都要求更新、融合,这使得儒学与现代性之问构成一个联结.儒学虽然古旧,但其极高明而道中庸的哲学品质、将历史文化整合到一个解释系统的能力、对于自由与秩序的构想,都深具时代的生命力;同样,现代性虽然是人类的命运,但其自身存在的谜一般的悖论、对西方中心主义的执著、工具理性与虚无主义的盛行,都将是其无法克服的痼痰,它同样需要自我超越.儒学与现代性的交融将是儒学的复兴和现代性的新方案.     

语言水平及结对方式对同伴反馈效果的影响研究

研究对比分析了中国英语学习者在不同分组情况下同伴反馈活动的过程和效果。数据来自于某三本院校英语专业一年级四个平行班中120名学生的写作文本及随访记录。调查发现同伴反馈对各个小组学生的写作能力总体上都产生积极影响,但小组内部成员的语言水平及结对方式影响同伴反馈的效果。综合考虑反馈质量、有效采纳数量及写作文本提高分数等因素,高低配对组是同伴反馈的最大受益者,依次是高高组、低低组,而低高组的反馈效果最不理想。
