Renewed commitments in a time of vigilance: sexuality education in the USA*

Over the past 20 years, the USA has seen more than its fair share of controversy with respect to education about sexuality, sex and intimate relationships. Attention has focused on content (abstinence-only vs. comprehensive instruction), delivery (by teachers, parents, health professionals or community educators) and context (within school and beyond). In recognition of this fact, Sex Education invited the development of a virtual special issue comprising a sample of its most impactful papers on these and related topics. The 2016 Presidential election results and recent legislative action in the USA point to the importance of thinking broadly about teaching and learning about sexuality inside and outside of schools and of considering sexuality as it intersects with categories of difference, privilege and penalty, including ability, age, immigration, race, gender and class. This paper, developed as an introduction to the virtual special issue, opens with a discussion of the journal’s contributions to the ongoing discussion of pleasure and desire in sexuality education. From there, we turn to the question of what is possible given the material and ideological conditions of schooling and then to opportunities for teachers and learners outside the conventional classroom. We follow with a discussion of the place of intersectional analyses in sexuality education research, and conclude with some thoughts on sexuality education research at this political moment.     

基于关键词分析的叙词表词间等同关系探讨

本文以"非典型肺炎"和"甲型H1N1流感"两个传染病作为研究样本,以中国知网(CNKI)数据库中的文献关键词作为语料库来源,基于用户关键词词频统计,并结合人工核查,分析同一概念的同义词和近义词以确立关键词词间的等同关系。目的是了解用户关键词和MeSH主题词之间的差异,分析用户表达偏好和习惯,进而为叙词表维护中的候选词汇选择提供一定的参考。     

Entrepreneurial effectiveness of European universities: An empirical assessment of antecedents and trade-offs

The phenomenon of entrepreneurial universities has received considerable attention over the last decades. An entrepreneurial orientation by academia might put regions and nations in an advantageous position in emerging knowledge-intensive fields of economic activity. At the same time, such entrepreneurial orientation requires reconciliation with the scientific missions of academia. Large-scale empirical research on antecedents of the entrepreneurial effectiveness of universities is scarce. This contribution examines the extent to which scientific productivity affect entrepreneurial effectiveness, taking into account the size of universities and the presence of disciplines, as well as the R&D intensity of the regional business environment (BERD). In addition, we assess the occurrence of trade-offs between different transfer mechanisms (contract research, patenting and spin off activity). The data used pertain to 105 European universities. Our findings reveal that scientific productivity is positively associated with entrepreneurial effectiveness. Trade-offs between transfer mechanisms do not reveal themselves; on the contrary, contract research and spin off activities tend to facilitate each other. Limitations and implications for future research are discussed.     

五华三黄鸡线粒体DNA控制区全序列分析

采用PCR和直接测序的方法测定五华三黄鸡两个类群--丰华和太和类群的线粒体DNA(mtDNA)控制区(D-loop)全序列,比较分析其序列特征并构建系统进化树.结果表明:五华三黄鸡2个类群线粒体DNA控制区全序列长度分别为1232 bp、1231 bp.与原鸡相比,五华三黄鸡的丰华类群和太和类群都发现14个变异位点,其中丰华类群的变异均是基因转换,而太和类群有13个转换和1个缺失,没有观测到颠换;A+T碱基含量分别占60.4%和60.3%,G+C碱基含量都约占39.6%.五华三黄鸡与其它19种禽类的D-loop基因序列同源性的分子进化树聚类结果表明五华三黄鸡类群与中国红原鸡亲缘关系最近.     

利用影响力受贿罪中“关系密切的人”辨析简

《刑法修正案（七）》第十三条增加了利用影响力受贿罪,该罪的犯罪主体中包括“关系密切的人”。结合第三百八十八条之一的规定,运用文理解释、体系解释和社会学解释方法对“关系密切的人”进行分析,“关系密切的人”应该是指能对国家工作人员或者离职的国家工作人员产生非权力性影响力关系亲近的人,其外延可从血缘、地缘、学缘以及其他具有一定感情基础的情况加以圈定。“关系密切的人”与“特定关系人”,两者的外延都有“近亲属”、“其他”兜底性的规定,其外延都比较宽泛,两者存在一定的重叠;但是两者在内涵、与国家工作人员的对向关系和司法认定的规则方面,存在明显的区别。

从体育俱乐部与校园体育文化两者的特点出发,探讨其中的辨证关系,认为体育俱乐部作为一种新的校园体育文化形式,丰富了校园体育文化的内涵,对促进整个校园体育文化的建设发挥着重要的作用;丰富多彩的校园体育文化活动也推动了体育俱乐部的建设,是俱乐部生存和发展的基础。两者相互依赖,相互促进,共同发展。     

The Three R's of Pastoral Care: Relationships, Respect and Responsibility

The author argues that over the last twenty years we have witnessed an evolution in pastoral care that is unparalleled in any other field of education. There has been controversy over the definition and these different views are discussed. The paucity of research and literature in the field and particularly in relation to the pastoral needs of teachers andstaff is emphasized.
In this paper it is suggested that the needs of school staff in respect of pastoral care are relatively neglected in the literature. Using the three R's of pastoral care – relationships, respect and responsibility – this paper focuses attention on teachers and their needs in the workplace. It is argued that attention to relationships, respect and responsibility enablesa proactive collaborative approach in which all members of the school community play a crucial role in the pastoral care of students.
