影像反馈教学法在羽毛球选项课中的实验研究

本文以中国劳动关系学院学生为研究对象展开实验性研究,采用文献调查法、专家访谈法、问卷调查法、实验对比研究法、数理统计法等研究方法,通过对比在羽毛球选项课中应用影像反馈教学法与传统教学方法在调动学生积极性及各项技术动作等方面的实际差别,总结出影像反馈教学法在羽毛球选项课中的独特优势,同时归纳出高效、适合实际情况的影像反馈教学模式。     

The Ultimate Survey: Asking One Question at a Time to Get Feedback from Library Users

ABSTRACT

Libraries use surveys and other instruments to gather feedback from their users. However, with competition from many other campus entities requesting input, how can survey fatigue be avoided? To gather this feedback, the Social Sciences Reference Desk utilized a short, fun and easy method. Each week for 10 weeks during the fall semester of 2017, the reference assistants wrote a survey question on a whiteboard and provided sticky notes for patrons to write their answers. The survey provided valuable information about patrons’ needs and expectations. It also fostered changes that were easily implemented to improve the delivery of library services.     

A knowledge-based semantic framework for query expansion

Searching for relevant material that satisfies the information need of a user, within a large document collection is a critical activity for web search engines. Query Expansion techniques are widely used by search engines for the disambiguation of user’s information need and for improving the information retrieval (IR) performance. Knowledge-based, corpus-based and relevance feedback, are the main QE techniques, that employ different approaches for expanding the user query with synonyms of the search terms (word synonymy) in order to bring more relevant documents and for filtering documents that contain search terms but with a different meaning (also known as word polysemy problem) than the user intended. This work, surveys existing query expansion techniques, highlights their strengths and limitations and introduces a new method that combines the power of knowledge-based or corpus-based techniques with that of relevance feedback. Experimental evaluation on three information retrieval benchmark datasets shows that the application of knowledge or corpus-based query expansion techniques on the results of the relevance feedback step improves the information retrieval performance, with knowledge-based techniques providing significantly better results than their simple relevance feedback alternatives in all sets.     

Using pictorial mnemonics in the learning of tax: a cognitive load perspective

The scope and complexity of the Australian taxation system (as with other tax regimes) is daunting for many accounting students. This paper documents the implementation of new practices that were initiated in an effort to address some of the challenges faced by undergraduate students studying taxation. Based on the principles of cognitive load theory, summaries of the lecture material became the focus of tutorials. These summaries provided the impetus for teaching staff to experiment with illustrations as a strategic means of delivery. Drawing diagrams and presenting them in the form of pictorial mnemonics proved to be effective tools in helping students understand and synthesize basic taxation concepts, thereby promoting effective deep learning. Both formal and informal feedback was overwhelmingly positive and affirming of this innovative approach to the subject. A selection of the pictorial mnemonics we designed is provided.     

The practicum experiences of English Language Major student teachers during a period of profound curriculum reform in China

This paper provides an analysis of the issues faced by Chinese student teachers and, by extension, their supervisors, when curriculum reform challenges existing practices in schools and universities. The paper draws on the experiences of 10 English Language Major student teachers as they think about, make sense of, and undertake their extended practicum in the fourth year of their teacher education program. The students, from the School of Foreign Languages at a major teacher education university in the northeast region of Mainland China are challenged by the complexity of the practicum as they attempt to negotiate the differing expectations of their school advisors and university supervisor. The analysis highlights two related issues: the difficulties faced by reform efforts in China and the disjuncture between school and university expectations for practicum students in light of these initiatives. Importantly, these results add to and prompt further development of the nascent literature on the student teacher practicum in China.

成就情境中回避失败行为及教育实践对策

回避失败行为是指在成就情境中为了减少和避免失败对自我价值的威胁而采取的策略与行为,包括自我价值保护行为、自我妨碍、冒充者忧虑、拖延行为、防御性悲观等。回避失败策略的运用与行为为成就设置了障碍,并会导致非成就性人格的形成。情境因素是影响回避失败行为养成的主要因素,对回避失败个体应采取有效的预防和干预措施。     

Rapid Feedback Assessment Methods: Can We Improve Engagement and Preparation for Exams in Large-enrollment Courses?

Scratch-off immediate feedback assessment technique (IF-AT) forms and classroom response systems (clickers) can increase student engagement and interaction and help students prepare for exams by indicating the type and level of questions they will encounter. We used the IF-AT throughout the semester in three sections of a lower-division biology class; in two, students worked on IF-AT questions in small permanent groups, and in one, students alternated between IF-AT and clickers each week. At the end of the semester, students answered surveys about instant feedback techniques. Students appreciated prompt feedback on their understanding of course material, enjoyed the group interaction and opportunities to learn from each other, and continued to have positive perceptions of instant feedback activities and to take them seriously throughout the semester. While appreciating the versatility of clicker questions, we find that the ease of use, low cost, effectiveness, and improved classroom climate of the IF-AT method are particularly commendable.     

The effect of peer feedback for blogging on college students' reflective learning processes

Reflection is an important prerequisite to making meaning of new information, and to advance from surface to deep learning. Strategies such as journal writing and peer feedback have been found to promote reflection as well as deep thinking and learning. This study used an empirical design to investigate the interaction effects of peer feedback and blogging on college students' reflective thinking skills and their learning approaches. Forty-four first- and second-year undergraduate students participated in the study. Students kept blogs each week throughout a whole semester. Two journals were sampled at the beginning and end of the semester for each student. A repeated measure one-way ANOVA suggested that students' reflective thinking level increased significantly over time; however, peer feedback was found to negatively affect students' reflective thinking skills. The result of the study suggests more carefully designed uses in the future.
