对区域旅游合作概念及空间范畴的认识

中国学者关于区域旅游合作概念的界定,在认识区域旅游合作的空间范畴上存在分歧,这种状况制约着区域旅游合作的深入研究,易对区域旅游合作的实践形成误导。从重新界定区域旅游合作概念入手,对上述问题进行分析得出,区域旅游合作既包括"区域间"旅游合作,又包括"区域内"旅游合作和"跨区域"旅游合作。     

South African students’ perceptions of the role of a gap year in preparing them for higher education

Abstract

Students often drop out of university because they were not yet ready for higher education studies. This article reports on research done on the perceptions of a group of students of the role that their gap year had played in preparing them for higher education studies. The research approach was qualitative. Data was gathered by means of 34 interviews. The findings revealed that the participants mostly took a gap year because they were uncertain about a field of study or career choice, suffered from burn-out or wanted to earn money to finance their own studies. Their gap year experience played a constructive role in preparing the participants for higher education: it gave them time to get clarity on a career choice which resulted in a higher level of motivation and a more focused approach to their studies; it cured them from burn out; facilitated their adjustment at university; improved their intercultural and interpersonal relationship skills and contributed to their personal development, independence and self-knowledge. The disadvantages of a gap year are also discussed.

Abstract

This paper identifies the different types of health science libraries located in various organizations engaged in research, education and training, administration and programme implementation relating to health and family welfare. These medical libraries have been grouped into four categories namely research, academic, medical and hospital, based on the functions of the organization/institution to which they are attached. Based on an all India survey, the resources, such as documents, manpower, finances and equipment of 248 health science libraries belonging to the allopathy system (modern medicine) have been examined. Basic library services, such as reference, current awareness, bibliography, MEDLARS/MEDLINE, abstracting/indexing, and photocopying have been studied. The information collected on various indices relating to medical library resources have been analysed and presented, indicating their strengths and weaknesses. The survey indicated a significant imbalance among the resources held and services rendered. Some measures for the improvement of the existing resources, services and their utilization have been suggested.

Wild West Libraries: A Study of Southwest Kansas Public Libraries

Public Libraries developed and grew along with the United States. In southwest Kansas, money, materials, staffing, and distance have been factors in the growth of the public libraries, and they remain current factors as well. Library consortia have aided in this development and have helped solve small library problems. This article reports a 2008 survey of public libraries that are served by the Southwest Kansas Library System (SWKLS). The survey lays out the operating conditions of some of America's small libraries and shows the extent of their interrelationship with their consortium.     

A Collective Impact Approach To The Reading Achievement Gap

Abstract

This essay profiles The Big Lift, a multi-agency initiative to improve third-grade reading proficiency in San Mateo County, California. The Big Lift is an example of collective impact, in which organizations from different sectors unite around a common agenda to solve a social challenge. This kind of initiative goes beyond collaboration, requiring its own infrastructure, dedicated staff, ongoing communication and shared measurements of success. Library participation is critical to the success of community and literacy-focused collective impact projects like The Big Lift.     

An Exploratory Study of International Students Studying and Living in a Regional Area

The aim of this research is to explore the similarity and differences international students encounter while studying and living in a regional area of Australia as compared to their Asian homeland. This study builds on both academic and lifestyle issues previously identified in research and explores the international students' experiences on their academic adjustments while living in a regional area. The findings of this investigation identified three themes: education, finance, and culture. The analysis identified that students experience some level of difficulty at an initial stage but were positively accustomed to the local settings after a period of time. Finally, the findings in this paper are valuable to educational institutions, especially those of regional areas seeking to understand how international students behave and act when studying and living in a regional area. Additionally, this paper will also give prospective students an overall understanding of what to expect when they choose to study in a regional area in Australia.     

永乐以来明代阁臣地域分布初探

阁臣是明代一个特殊的官僚群体,在明代的政治发展中发挥了十分重要的历史作用。本文通过对阁臣所在籍贯的整理,发现他们呈现出明显的集中分布的地域性特征。分析这种地域性分布特征,可以进一步加深我们对明代政治的理解,同时也能为相关的研究提供有益的借鉴。     

基于金融差异视角对我国货币政策区域效应的分析

本文基于区域金融结构差异视角考察我国货币政策区域非对称性问题。首先,通过简单描述统计的分析方法对我国的区域金融结构进行比较分析,可知我国金融结构存在着显著的区域差异性。然后,运用面板数据模型实证分析各区域金融结构与货币政策区域差异性的相关性。结果表明,各区域金融结构均对货币政策产生显著影响,但影响程度并不相同。最后,为我国货币政策的有效实施以及地区经济发展提出相关的政策建议。
