The “Hands Together” method of nonsterile scalpel blade mounting and removal

Scalpels are utilized by many different user groups for such purposes as medical procedures and dissection. Injuries caused by scalpels are a potential risk for scalpel users, and include injuries that may occur while mounting and removing the scalpel blade. Between 10% and 20% of all scalpel injuries in education and healthcare settings are reported to occur while scalpel blades are being mounted or removed. At present there are few published or “best practice” demonstrations of safe technique for scalpel blade mounting and removal. This brief article outlines a variation of the procedure for scalpel blade mounting and removal. It includes strategies developed to minimize risk or injury for the scalpel user, including providing a stable base for the hands and arms so as to prevent unnecessary large amplitude movements that may lead to injury of the scalpel user or a third party. Such a technique may promote scalpel safety, contribute to the development of “best practice” scalpel use, and help decrease injuries that may be caused while mounting or removing scalpel blades. 用菌EH-5所产絮凝剂处理乳品废水及啤酒废水,通过3因素3水平正交试验发现,由EH-5产生的絮凝剂对乳品废水和啤酒废水都有良好的处理效果。乳品废水和啤酒废水COD去除率分别为74.79%和64.15%,色度去除率分别为75.00%和69.57%,浊度去除率分别为93.78%和95.51%。

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS ON PRESSURIZED FLUIDIZED BED COMBUSTION(PFBC)FOR HIGH ASH COAL

The first phase of the experimental investigation in our institute on pressur-ized fluidized bed combustion(PFBC)technology is introduced,and the results of fivetests are presented.The combustion efficiencies were as high as 97% 98% when high ashcontent coal was burnt in PFBC,and the sulphur retention efficiencics were 80%-85%with the Ca/S mole ratios between 1.5-1.8.The particulate content in flue gas at the out-let of high temperature gas clean-up system was 189mg/m~3(normalized).The average di-ameter of particles was 2.5-3μm and the weight fraction of particles with diameter largerthan 10μm was not greater than 3%.
