歇后语是我国语言文化宝库中的奇葩,是我国民间流传得最广的传统语言文化之一,它集诙谐幽默于一体,集中反映了我国劳动人民的聪明和才智,承载着丰富的文化内涵。因此它具有浓厚的民族色彩、充分的人类智慧和独特的语言结构。本文探讨了歇后语的结构形式、幽默讽刺之修辞特色,并且探讨了相应的日译方法,以便更好地把幽默诙谐的歇后语准确完美地介绍给日本民众,弘扬中国文化。     

Meanings of talk about the transition to retirement: Connecting macro and micro discourses

ABSTRACT

This study integrates the normative theory of social support and organizational discourse perspectives to examine the meanings of baby boomers’ talk about changes associated with the transition to retirement, and how this talk connects to societal Discourses. Analysis of interviews with 43 participants (21 couples) revealed that talk about changes associated with money and time implicated multiple task, identity, and relational meanings. Drawing connections between talk and Discourse about finances was relatively straightforward, whereas there was more disjuncture regarding time. Results suggest that participants were easily able to talk about financial issues, perhaps because of more prominent Discourse, but found discussing identity and relational aspects of spending time in retirement more difficult, perhaps due to a lack of Discourse.

近年来,隐喻研究如火如茶地开展起来。动词隐喻是隐喻的类型之一,全文利用丰富的实例说明,动词隐喻具备修辞功能和美学功能。此外,该研究还分析了动词隐喻的翻译策略：文化形象和联想喻体相同或类似时,尽量采取直译;文化形象和联想喻体不同时,采取意译。     

Towards an insistent and transformative racial rhetorical criticism

ABSTRACT

Racial rhetorical criticism is a scholarly project that maps the rhetoricity of race and whiteness. Emerging in and through the intellectual labor of rhetorical scholars invested in critical explorations of race, racial rhetorical criticism is necessarily nimble, attentive to the ever-shifting yet always fixed parameters of race and whiteness. In this reflection, I advance two commitments of racial rhetorical criticism that emerge across the forum: critical vulnerability and obstinate intersectionality. Together, these two intellectual practices interrupt the static force of the canon as they produce transformative inclusion.     

The call of conscience,rhetorical interruptions,and the euthanasia controversy

Emmanuel Levinas writes of how the “call of conscience”; is a “primordial discourse”; that “interrupts”; the routines and language‐games that help organize and give meaning to a person's everyday existence. Levinas thus provides a way of thinking about the relationship between the call of conscience and rhetoric that advances what rhetorical theorists have so far claimed about this relationship. This essay develops the position that the call of conscience is a rhetorical interruption in its purest form. A case study is offered to illustrate how such an interruption manifests itself in the debate over the justifiability and social acceptability of physician‐assisted suicide. The specific rhetorical transaction in question occurred in cyberspace and lasted five months; it began when members of a disability civil rights group known as “Not Dead Yet!”; conducted what their opponents described as an “invasion”; of an electronic mailing list operated by the Euthanasia Research and Guidance Organization.
