Collaboration and Education: Engaging High School Students With EAC-CPF Research

The Special Collections Research Center at Johns Hopkins University received a Council on Library and Information Resources Hidden Collections grant from March 2013 to March 2014 for processing the archives of the Roland Park Company. The grant included partnerships between the Archives and Technical Services to create a Best Practices for EAC-CPF records, as well as a local high school history class to complete the required research. Rather than simplify International Standard Archival Authority Record For Corporate Bodies, Persons and Families and EAC-CPF for the students, project staff distilled them into discrete, easy-to-understand tasks that allowed for the production of controlled data in a high school environment.     

高职校企合作模式的国际比较

在《国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要（2010--2020年）》和《国家高等职业教育发展规划（200-2015年）》中,都明确提出要大力发展校企合作,校企合作是高等职业教育又一次飞跃性改革,是我国高等职业教育发展的里程碑。本文通过比较西方国家高等职业教育校企合作的模式,借鉴他们的优秀经验来发展我国的高等职业教育。     

卓越计划模式下应用型本科人才培养模式的构建——校企合作

2010年6月教育部启动卓越工程师教育培养计划,主要是企业与高校共同成为人才培养的单位,加深企业的参与度。校企合作是开展工程教育的重要途径,应用型本科人才培养参照＂卓越计划＂,可以提高人才培养的质量。因此,需要以企业对人才的需求为导向、以调动企业的积极性为突破口、以政府的政策支持为保障、以双师型教师队伍建设为关键来构建应用型本科人才培养模式。

Agile Project Management in Libraries: Creating Collaborative,Resilient, Responsive Organizations

Libraries must continually adapt to meet the ever-changing needs of users. Doing so requires the ability to be flexible and respond quickly. This is a case study of how The George Washington University Libraries rethought its approach to collection development using a cross-functional, team-based strategy that leveraged the benefits of Agile project management. Adopting an Agile approach to collection development maximized the impact of the library’s financial resources and enabled staff to develop new skills. This project underscores the value of collaboration, agility, and experimentation in libraries.     

Ugandan health libraries in the 21st century: key initiatives and challenges

This article is part of a series in this regular feature which looks at new directions in health science libraries. This paper highlights new initiatives aimed at ensuring health libraries can contribute to the development of Uganda in the 21st century and the challenges facing libraries. It stresses that for libraries to be successful they need to form networks and collaborations for resource sharing; take advantage of the benefits of information technology; computerise their library systems; as well as invest in the development of staff. The paper highlights the main challenge facing the library service as inadequate funding both from government for public‐funded health libraries and the private sector (for privately funded health libraries). The paper concludes that, despite the bottlenecks brought about by inadequate funding, Ugandan health libraries have taken positive steps to support health research and education, as well as patient care, not just for Uganda, but for the whole of the East African region. 职业教育技能大赛若干问题研究

举办全国职业院校技能大赛,是我国职业教育的一项制度创新。提出大赛项目定位是技能大赛与专业教学改革相结合、系统组织与行业企业参与相结合、个人发展与团队协作工作相结合,对于引领职业院校专业教学改革、促进工学结合人才培养模式创新具有重要作用;应进一步完善大赛制度建设、探索大赛运行模式,加强院校、企业和社会的沟通与交流;注意防止"应赛教育"的异化倾向,关注职业院校全体学生综合素质的提升。     

加强校企文化互融,提高职业指导有效性

目前,高职毕业生的就业状况存在着就业岗位竞争激烈,或就业岗位不对口,频繁跳槽等现象,究其原因是学生对企业的了解甚少、缺乏感性认识,缺乏企业适应性。对高职学校职业指导工作进行有效性研究,对校企文化互融在高职职业指导中的作用分析,认为教育理念、教师素质、教育环境对高职职业指导工作的有效开展尤为重要。高职学校应将企业文化引进校园,搭建校企文化互融的多种教育教学平台,使校企深度融合的文化氛围感染学生,内化学生对未来职业的感知和适应。将职业指导贯穿于校企文化互融环境下的学生整个的学习过程,提升毕业生的从业竞争力,从而提高毕业生的就业率和就业稳定率。     

University–preschool partnership and workplace-based learning: a collaborative ‘third space’ or no space at all?

The article examines the aims of the workplace-based learning of prospective preschool teachers in Iceland and associated cooperative practices between the University of Iceland and preschools. A ‘third space’ of collaboration between these two sites is considered necessary if the education of preschool student teachers is to be effective. Collaboration between the university and preschools as presented in the university’s policy documents and as implemented in practice will be investigated and compared to the literature on collective third space. Implications for both policy and practice are discussed.
