The affordances of teacher professional learning communities: A case study of a Chinese secondary school

This study investigates the learning experiences and the trajectories of EFL teachers' professional development in Chinese secondary schools under a socio-cultural framework. The findings indicate that social and individual affordances are both essential to individual teachers’ professional development, and to the sustainable growth of the teacher learning community (TLC). The former is prerequisite to the latter, whereas the latter determines the route and pace of development. This paper also demonstrates the usefulness of activity theory in analysing the affordances of TLC, and advocates that all parties involved should understand, identify and create positive affordances for teacher professional development.     

英国和谐社会建设中公民的权利与责任及其对教育政策的影响

建立公平、公正、和谐的社会是历届英国政府所追求的目标,但是福利国家造成了公共开支的负担,形成了依赖文化心理,而新自由主义在自由平等条件下的个人自救使个人价值超越了个体赖以生存的社会价值观与规范,从而造成了新的不平等和社会结构的不稳定。英国新工党试图以积极的福利社会、社群主义和社会资本理论为指导,平衡公民的权利与对社会发展责任之间的关系,促进和谐社会的发展。     

A Review of Research on Technology-Assisted Teaching and Learning of Chinese as a Second or Foreign Language from 2008 to 2018

More and more studies are examining the use of technology in the teaching of Mandarin Chinese as a second or foreign language (L2 Chinese). The current study involved a systematic review of the literature in the field published outside China from 2008 to 2018. A total of 33 studies met the inclusion criteria. The current review study aimed: (1) to examine the research topics and technologies used in the literature; (2) to identify the benefits of, and challenges involved in, the use of technologies in L2 Chinese teaching and learning; and (3) to suggest implications for practitioners and directions for further research. The review study provides educators and researchers with an overview of recent developments in this field, which could be helpful in informing teaching practice and further research.     

浅谈学校体育对社区体育的影响

对学校体育与城市社区体育各自存在的问题进行分析,提出了利用两者之间存在互补的辩证关系解决它们各自存在的问题,阐明了学校体育是全民健身的基础与关键,城市社区体育是全民健身的重要阵地。     

"情感过滤假说"及其在外语课堂教学中的运用

20世纪80年代初，美国语言学家S．D．Krashen提出了著名的“五大假说”，即习得学得假说、自然顺序假说、监控假说、输入假说和情感过滤假说。根据情感过滤假说，情感主要在学习动机、自信心、焦虑等三个方面对学习者的第二语言习得具有重要影响。如何在课堂教学中运用该假说来提高外语课堂教学的效果则是我们外语教师所关心的问题。本文以克拉中第二语言习得理论中的情感过滤假说为理论基础，讨论了这一理论的背景及其界定，尝试性地将情感过滤假说与外语课堂教学结合起来进行研究，提出了在外语课堂教学中如何运用这一理论的一些观点。     

Teachers’ professional vulnerability and cultural tradition: A Chinese paradox

The paper explores the issue of teachers’ professional vulnerability using a range of messages from an online teachers’ community on the Chinese mainland. The study reveals how macro changes at policy level impact on teachers’ professional relationships and in turn their professional identities in teacher discussants’ perceptions. Furthermore, the paper argues that the Chinese cultural tradition somehow adds to teachers’ professional vulnerability. While the tradition used to give teachers authority, it imposes burdens on teachers and subjects them to close scrutiny, which consequently make them feel more vulnerable. The paper concludes with critical reflections on its methodology and findings, calling for further research into the issue.

社区是社会的细胞,社区和谐是社会和谐的基础。构建和谐社会,应当把构建和谐社区作为切入点。大连市西岗社区用科学发展观统领社区建设,以建设和谐社区促进和谐社会建设,在社区建设方面取得了长足进展。同时,社区建设在目前还是新事物,还在探索过程中,在建设中存在很多问题,需要我们研究社区建设的制约因素及其对策,以加快和谐社区建设,构建社区管理的新型模式。     

妈祖信仰与马来西亚华人社会—文化认同的视角

以信仰为载体建构认同是一个复杂的社会文化现象。妈祖信仰是马来西亚华人的主要信仰之一,在传承中国传统文化,凝聚华人共同意识,组织华人参与集体生活等方面发挥着重要功能。在马来西亚种族多样、文化异质的多元社会里,妈祖信仰通过仪式、建立会馆组织等途径建构了华人的文化认同。     

中产阶层的社区参与:意识与渠道研究

中产阶层是那些在职业声望和收入都相对较高,有稳定职业和收入的人群,以往研究认为他们很少参与社区事务,其实他们通过业主委员会也在积极参与社区活动,而且他们在环保方面具有很强的参与意识和能力。因此,要为中产阶层参与社区活动创造物理沟通平台。同时加速居民利益社区化的进程,使中产阶层居民在利益关系的基础上产生参与社区事务的动力。
