Socioaffective Issues and Concerns Among Gifted Filipino Children

There is a dearth of information regarding the socioemotional realities of gifted children from ethnically diverse backgrounds, which this research attempts to address. Multiple semistructured narrative interviews were conducted with 22 intellectually superior children aged 4–9 years and with their parents. Manifestations of perfectionism, hypersensitivities, and overexcitabilities were evident among the Filipino gifted children. The implications of such manifestations of heightened sensitivities for educators and diagnosticians were discussed. Cross-cultural contrasts were likewise discussed to demonstrate whether predominant socioaffective traits, characteristics, and issues in the West are likewise evident among gifted children from a culturally different background like the Philippines.     

‘It is certainly strange…’: attacks on ethnic studies and whiteness as property

In 2010, Arizona passed legislation that attacked ethnic studies in k-12 (kindergarten to 12th grade). Specifically, Mexican American/Raza Studies (MARS) was targeted by the state Superintendent of Public Instruction (SPI), and, in effect, would be eliminated by the Prohibited Courses; Discipline; Schools Law (Prohibited Courses Law). This study utilizes document and content analysis to examine both a letter written by the SPI calling for the elimination of MARS, and the text of the Prohibited Courses Law. Framing the work within critical race theory, these two documents work together to normalize and make property of whiteness in Arizona’s public schools, and re-create a hegemonic status quo. In addition, this study analyzes how MARS acts as a site of counter-hegemonic activity by scrutinizing customary discourses as presented in schools and curricula.

区域旅游合作是旅游业发展的必然趋势。针对河南省的旅游业现状,结合行政区域内合作的问题,提出了河南区域旅游合作的战略模式,即"点—轴—圈协同推进"模式,形成一个统一的大旅游整体,进而提出了实现河南区域旅游合作的保障措施。     

科学论文内的科学数据组织和发现研究

[目的/意义] 科学论文中的图、表等科学数据（文内数据）蕴含有丰富的知识内容。基于细粒度语义组织的文内数据发现有效聚合文献、科学数据两类科研产出,为未来实现全领域、全维度、全粒度、全类型的深度知识发现奠定基础。[方法/过程] 梳理、对比、分析现有3类文内数据的发现模式,尝试构建面向细粒度内容描述的文内数据本体,揭示文内数据的显性特征、内容特征以及与其他类型科学产出的关联特征。[结果/结论] 从面向应用的角度,提出基于本体的文内数据知识发现技术框架,细化"信息抽取—语义标注—关联应用"技术路线,针对关键点技术进行讨论。文内数据本体为科学论文内科学数据提供语义描述和关联组织依据,人工标注结合机器学习自动标注可以解决文内数据部分特征发现问题。     

旅游景区战略联盟不稳定性的博弈分析

一卡通联盟是旅游景区集团化发展的路径模式,是实现企业可持续发展和旅游产业化的重要渠道.通过对一卡通联盟组建及其运营过程的研究,指出战略伙伴的选择、关系资本的建立和利益分配是影响联盟不稳定性的主要因素,并提出相应的对策.     

创新研究国际前沿的可视化分析

为了追踪创新研究的国际前沿、确定创新研究的核心文献,利用信息可视化技术和社会网络分析方法,对SSCI数据库中创新主题文献进行了分析.得出如下结论:创新绩效研究和技术创新研究是近年来创新研究的国际前沿热点领域;国际创新研究的核心文献主要分布在国家的创新系统、创新的扩散、公司的创新和创新对经济变革的作用等研究领域.     

Exploring service issues within the IT organisation: Four mini-case studies

This case study paper presents four mini-case studies which explore IT service management issues within IT departments. It suggests that there is a shift in focus in IT away from the technical artefacts towards customer directed services. The case studies concern a hospital, a provider of marine charts, a logistics company and the batch operations of a bank. A range of issues are discussed including the provision of customer support, the acquisition of software and services, relationships with suppliers and the development of service strategy. The mini-case study is presented as a vehicle for identifying research issues and for teaching IT service management concepts in short tutorial sessions.
