This article examines the effectiveness of training facilitators in secondary schools to follow APA learner‐centered principles to support learners in distance education. The study was a cluster‐randomized control trial with 36 match pairs of schools and 246 students in the rural USA. The schools were selected at random and assigned at random to treatment condition. Instructors were blind to the treatment condition as were the local facilitators and schools. Data on length of time spent in the course and whether students completed the semester were analyzed. The results indicated that students in the intervention condition completed the first semester at a statistically higher rate than control students where facilitators did not have this training. The number of weeks students remained in the course was likewise statistically different with students in the intervention condition staying in the course more weeks holding instructor constant. 相似文献

Education for sustainability (EfS) is emerging as an urgent imperative and challenge for higher education. But what exactly does it mean to put sustainability into higher education? How do we bring sustainability themes into university curriculum, across the enormous diversity of academic disciplines? This paper describes the experience of teaching a large ‘stand‐alone’ EfS subject which sits within the professional contexts of the large first‐year cohort undertaking it. We describe the themes, architecture and approach to sustainability education taken in this course and evaluate the learning and assessment activities offered to students. We conclude with reflections on the student experience and feedback, which suggests that while academics build towards a deeply embedded sustainability ethic in higher education, specialist parallel courses have a valuable role to play in the transition to sustainable futures. 相似文献

A number of available resources offer guidance about hypermedia design strategies, many of which rely on principles of user-centered
design. Many recent efforts, however, have focused more on developing learner-centered hypermedia. Learner-centered hypermedia is designed to help learners achieve their educational goals, rather than offer mere
usability. Unfortunately, this endeavor is hamstrung by a lack of empirical research on the topic. Research conducted in my
laboratory and others has provided some insight, however. It is now understood that several system and user characteristics
influence outcomes of hypermedia-assisted learning (HAL). Among the most relevant factors are learners’ levels of metacognition
and prior knowledge, and the interaction between these factors and hypermedia structure. By capitalizing on this research,
it is possible to create hypermedia that scaffolds learners in their quest to build knowledge and understanding. The present
article draws from empirical findings to suggest hypermedia design strategies aimed at scaffolding learners engaged in HAL.
These guidelines target learners’ knowledge and metacognitive ability to structure hypermedia that maximizes learning potential.

大众媒介的世俗化是在整个社会文化的世俗化过程中开始的,二者体现出相互交融的关系。因此,媒介与社会文化之间具有内在的同一性。这种同一致性有两个方面的内涵:一是大众媒介与社会文化的世俗化发展趋势具有一致性,都由政治中心主义转向人文中心主义;二是大众媒介与社会文化在转型过程中不是平行发展的关系,而是融合互渗、相辅相成的关系。 相似文献

传统法律中的财产继承在原理上是排除女性的,女儿没有继承权。但是,唐、宋以及明清的法律以及法律习惯上女儿是可以继承一定的"嫁妆"和财产的。反映出传统法律在女性的财产继承上,法律原理与制定法及法律习惯存在着冲突。从重新思考传统法律中财产继承的两性关系的角度出发,分析"同居共财"的传统家庭财产的法律构造和财产权利关系,考察女性的法律地位。 相似文献

查尔斯.狄更斯是19世纪英国最伟大的批判现实主义作家之一。其作品以深刻的笔触揭露了资本主义社会的种种弊端,反映了下层人民的悲惨生活。《远大前程》是其后期作品,展示了狄更斯对19世纪英国上层社会的尖锐批判。而《远大前程》中的悲剧人物郝维仙小姐的刻画,更深刻反映了资本主义社会人与人之间赤裸裸的金钱关系。从社会、家庭及郝维仙小姐自身的角度,对其悲剧命运产生的原因进行剖析,旨在揭示在男权统治下19世纪维多利亚时代女性的地位与悲剧命运。 相似文献
