Emotional competencies are considered protective factors against behaviour problems and have been associated with adequate social and academic development. Early intervention means a greater chance of stability and development of these skills; however, few programmes address these aspects and evaluate their effectiveness in the short, middle or long term. Our research goal was to implement an early intervention programme for the development of emotional competencies based on the mediated reading of children’s literature and to evaluate its long-term effectiveness. Participants were 115 children between the ages of five and eight who were divided into two groups. To assess the impact of the programme, a factorial design was implemented with four independent variables. The ‘Mediated reading’ and ‘Traditional reading’ groups were compared on measures of facial emotion recognition, empathy and emotional regulation. Results indicate that the mediated reading group showed the best performance on all the dimensions evaluated, with significant differences from the traditional reading group. The study concludes by analysing the outcomes and limitations of the programme implemented. 相似文献

Labour perspectives on the new politics of skill and competency formation: International reflections

Skill/competency approaches to workplace-based policy seek to assess and train for discrete individual competencies with the
goal of increasing employability and productivity. These approaches have become increasingly prominent across a range of advanced
capitalist countries. A substantial critique has emerged over this same period regarding issues of instrumentality and social
control, as well as the failure of skill/compentancy approaches to articulate a meaningful understanding of human learning
capacities. In this article, these critical perspectives are clarified further by a review of contributions to understanding
the skill/competence question emerging from sociology of work literature. Building from these critiques, this article outlines
recent experiences with and perspectives on skill/competency frameworks amongst different national labour movements. Included
in this outline is a more detailed, comparative analysis of Norway and Canada; here we see the lofty ‘new’, ‘knowledge economy’
rhetoric — in two countries where one might expect to see it blossom in application — brought down to earth by the realities
of industrial relations, employer intransigence and intra-labour movement differences. ‘Skill/competence’ proves to be a floating
signifier that, amongst both employers and labour, stands as a proxy for ‘power/control’ struggles. Degenerating in this way,
from a labour perspective, the new politics of skill/competency formation is seen to have spiraled toward irrelevance in Norway
and Canada; awaiting, in both countries, a re-invigoration through attention to changes in the participatory structure of

There are many benefits to peer and near-peer tutoring. The current literature suggests that near-peer teaching within the domain of gross anatomy may lead to the development of numerous competencies for burgeoning medical professionals. The aim of this study was a quantitative and qualitative approach to explore which professional and personal competencies anatomy tutors developed as a result of their teaching activities in a gross anatomy course at a medical school in Germany. For a period of 18 months, 24 peer tutors were followed and queried multiple times via questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. It was found that most of the skills tutors developed or strengthened over one semester matched most of the core competencies described in various official competency frameworks used for physician education. In particular, tutors thought that tutoring gross anatomy had improved their knowledge of professional behavior as well as their communication skills. They also felt that they had learned to take on more responsibility and to use available resources more effectively. Overall, tutoring gross anatomy was perceived as very challenging, but also very rewarding, mainly because it provided the opportunity to develop and strengthen important skills such as self-confidence, self-awareness, positive thinking, self-insight, and stress management. Ultimately, these are all factors that contribute to resilience, an important attribute for physicians. 相似文献

职业核心能力是除专业能力之外的基本能力,它没有职业性,是支持人们职业生涯发展,并伴随终身的个性心理品质。实质上,职业核心能力包括了方法能力和社会能力。当前,职业核心能力的培养存在内涵理解、课程观念、培养方式等偏差。职业核心能力的培养应构建一个整体化、系统化的课程体系,并最终落实在能力本位的课程设计和开发上。这种课程的设计和开发,应遵循设计导向的教育思想、能力本位的培养目标、实践过程的课程模式和行动导向的教学方法等。 相似文献
