Family factors and parenting in Ukraine

The present study aimed to estimate the use of positive and negative parenting practices in Ukraine and explore relationships between parenting practices, intimate partner violence (IPV), alcohol use, and sociodemographics. Parents of children (N = 320) ages 9–16 from three Ukrainian regions answered questions from the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ), the Revised Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS-R), Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale (FACES), and the Alcohol Use Section of the Drinking and Drug History and Current Use Patterns questionnaire. Ukrainian parents who reported lower use of alcohol, balanced family functioning and lower intimate partner violence were more likely to use positive parenting and less likely to use negative parenting practices. Parents with lower education were more likely to use negative parenting practices. Furthermore, alcohol use, IPV, parent education and higher family income were significantly and indirectly related with positive and negative parenting scores. The model explained 61% of variance in the positive parenting, 67% in the negative parenting.     

Acculturating the Traditional Chinese Medicine: A Culture-Centered Study of Chinese International Students’ Idealization of Medical Integration during Sojourns

ABSTRACT

To better understand the Chinese international students’ barrier to the U.S. health and medical system, this study investigates the students’ understandings of Traditional Chinese medicines during their sojourns in the United States. Holding that medicine is cultural/culture, the culture-centered in-depth interviews (n = 23) help understand the Chinese international students’ acculturation of the two medicines after their arrival in the new medical culture. The analyses focus on the rhetorical nature of medical acculturation: even though the students actually assimilate Traditional Chinese medicine, they claim to integrate the two. The results indicate how integration has been idealized and imposed as the only acceptable medical acculturation strategy for international students. The findings also suggest that medical integration has been used as a disguising cloak of medical assimilation and therefore, immigrants’ integration and acculturation should be carefully examined in health contexts.

Stability and dissipative analysis for a class of stochastic system with time-delay

This paper deals with the stability and dissipative problem of a class of stochastic hybrid system. The system under study involves Markovian jump, impulsive effects and time delay, which are often encountered in practice and are the sources of instability. Our attention is focused on analysis of whether the stochastic hybrid system with time-delay is stochastically asymptotically stable and strictly (Q, S, R) dissipative. By introducing an extra artificial time instance, the equivalent system is obtained and the sufficient conditions are derived by using linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques. The main results of this paper unify the existing results on H_∞ control.     

分布式系统上异构拥有源服务质量的优化研究

提出的正交同步解调法(即GQSD算法)是一种可用来减少种群代的最大重复次数的新技术手段。GQSD算法有助于在现有(非旧式的)优化算法上使处理源调度达到最优化。GQSD是一种通过界定新参数和度量数据来降低任务延时以及响应用时的新型算法。GQSD算法还达到服务器的服务水平。模拟实验表明采用GQSD算法后,分布式系统的总任务进程的完成时间得到缩短,性能有所提高,从而使得不同层次分布式处理器的服务质量得到提高,处理延时也大大降低。     

少数民族传统文化的法律保护

在社会现代化与全球化进程中 ,如何处理好“全球一体化”与“文化多元化”的矛盾 ,是当代人类社会面临的主要挑战之一。关注现代化进程中的少数民族传统文化 ,运用法律手段保护少数民族传统文化是时代赋予我们的使命。为此 ,正确认识少数民族传统文化的特点 ,明确少数民族传统文化法律保护的原则 ,确立少数民族传统文化法律保护的内容及其规范体系具有重要意义。     

高职宽口径专业教改方案编制的实践与思考

基于成本的主存Cache效率分析

现代计算机体系结构中广泛采用Cache来缓解处理器运行和存储器访问的速度增长之间的巨大差距,使得Cache己经成为影响处理器性能、功耗、价值的重要因素之一.根据主存Cache的基本工作原理,分析引入其后的成本和系统的效率,可以明确在成本方面进行主存Cache效率分析对存储技术的影响.     

"信号与系统"课程教学中的几点思考

"信号与系统"是电子信息类专业的一门核心基础课,为了有效地上好该课程,需要进行教学改革。一方面,要组织好教学内容;另一方面,要针对教学内容采用相应的合适的教学方法。为此我们进行了教学改革,教学实践的结果表明我们的改革是有效的,本文总结了我们在教学过程中的几点思考。     

问题与出路：我国反腐败现状实证研究——基于上海反腐败专业人士和领导干部的调查

当前中国反腐败斗争面临的突出问题是“发现难”和“惩处难”,以及滋生腐败现象的环境和土壤一时难以铲除。进一步推进反腐败斗争越须立足中国现实,加强廉政教育、深化市场经济体制改革、完善制度建设、借助技术手段、健全监督体系和构建全方位惩处机制。
