改革与创新:师范院校大学语文教学的实践性探索

新形势下师范院校大学语文教学存在诸多亟待解决的问题,如教学定位尚不够明确,方式相对单一,且教学手段仍显呆板,教材编写不适应教学需求,课程测评机制也不够健全等,必须进行改革。而调整课程内容,强化从业技能,改革教学方法,完善测评体系,优化育人环境,则是大学语文教学改革的有效路径。     

浅谈当下职业教育中人文素养的培养

随着社会的发展,职业教育不仅仅需要关注学生的“职业”养成,更应该注意对学生人文素养的培养.目前,我国的职业教育中人文素养的缺失现象十分严重,既有历史原因,也有现实困局.纵观世界各国的职业教育,科学性和人文性越来越有渗透的趋势.我国的职业教育也应该更加深化,建立属于自己的多样化的人文教育路径.加强人文素养教育已经成为现下职业教育界的呐喊,同时提升人文素养也是我国职业教育改革发展中需要面对和克服的重大理论和实践课题.     

‘Giving voice’ in research processes: an inclusive methodology for researching into social exclusion in Spain

This article seeks to illustrate how a research study that claims to be inclusive should incorporate into its development, decisions of methodological flexibility that enable voice to be given to all participants regardless of their personal conditions. The changes carried out in the techniques, procedures or in the kind of questions used in the research, illustrate how young persons can be involved in the building of scientific and academic knowledge that is being generated about them. This work forms part of a more extensive line of inquiry that started a number of years ago by two Spanish universities (Cantabria and Seville).     

The dimensional structure of reading assessment tasks in the IEA reading literacy study 1991 and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study 2001

The study investigates measurement properties of the reading assessment tasks used in the IEA 1991 Reading Literacy (RL) study and the Progress in International Readings Study (PIRLS) 2001 study. The analysis is based on data from the Swedish PIRLS study, comprising 16,676 students in grades 3 and 4. As an extension to the basic design, not only the PIRLS tasks were administered, but each student also completed 1 of the 2 booklets from the 1991 study. Using missing-data modeling techniques, confirmatory factor analysis models were estimated and tested for the complete set of reading tasks. Results show that both sets of tasks measure comprehension of reading continuous text, but that each of them also represents unique sources of variance. In the RL instrument, reading speed is one such component, and performance on tasks from the documents domain is another. The PIRLS tasks are influenced by the requirement to produce constructed responses. It is also demonstrated that the shared context among items referring to a particular text is a source of systematic variance.     

The social studies methods course: what do teacher candidates know and want to know about teaching social studies?

During the past decade, there has been more than an adequate amount of research addressing issues regarding social studies methods courses. However, the apparent void is that there is no clear understanding of what pedagogical content knowledge or understanding of pedagogical approaches teacher candidates bring with them to social studies methods courses or what they expect from their time in social studies methods courses. The purpose of this study is to determine the mentality of the typical social studies methods course student, as he or she enters a social studies methods course. Validating farmers' indigenous social networks for local seed supply in central rift valley of Ethiopia

Abstract

The information on farmers' indigenous social networks in local seed systems is based on a case study undertaken in the central rift valley of Ethiopia. Farmers' indigenous social networks (social relation, locally developed seed exchange methods and local institutions) are presented as leverage mechanisms for the survival of local seed systems. A farmer decision to acquire seeds is discussed as an act of making a choice between whether to obtain a new germplasm/maintain old ones (genetic diversity management) or a search for renewable physical input (seed) or to take advantage of each merit in specific situations. This clearly underscores the need to value the individual merit of a seed before putting in place any type of variety selection, seed multiplication or extension programs. Analysis of the case study leads to the conclusion that the government imposed extension program should focus on institutional transformation of farmers' indigenous social networks in order to validate the complementary role of local seed systems in the development of a national seed industry.     

Bringing Inclusion into Focus: A Camp-based Research Study

ABSTRACT

As an increasing number of Jewish summer camps welcome campers with disabilities, it becomes more important to understand the experience of these campers and that of their neurotypical peers. In this study, campers with disabilities and neurotypical campers participated together in a photography activity. Photographs and their accompanying narratives were analyzed, yielding three categories of results: (1) camp community and responsibility (2) Jewish experience at camp; and (3) challenges and opportunities. Results are discussed in terms of enhancing the experience of inclusion at camp for all campers.
