Changes in school mathematics knowledge in Greece: a Bernsteinian analysis

The purpose of this paper is to critically examine the changes that took place in school mathematics knowledge for pupils aged six and seven (first grade of Greek elementary school) and its pedagogical approach, which took shape following the reforms of the mathematics curricula in 1982 and 2003. Our analysis is based on Bernstein’s theoretical framework on pedagogic discourse and Dowling’s theoretical framework on textual domains. The results showed that there are differences between the 1982 and 2003 reforms, in terms both of the content of mathematics knowledge, as well as of the forms of pedagogic interaction between the teacher and the pupil.

La enseñanza de estrategias para identificar y reducir la información importante de un texto. Consecuencias para la construcción del modelo de la situación

Resumen

En el presente trabajo pretendemos estudiar la relación que existe en tre dos de los procesos más importantes implicadosen la comprensión lectora: la identificación de la información importante y la reducción (resumen) de la información. Además, intentamos ver qué consecuencias tiene la enseñanza en estos procesos en la construcción del modelo de la situación textual. Para ello, diseñamos dos programas de instrucción, uno centrado en ayudar al lector a identificar la información importante de un texto y el otro centrado en el resumen de un texto. El procedimiento consistió en “normalizar” a través de la instrucción a dos grupos de alumnos de sexto y séptimo curso en cada uno de estos componentesy comprobar la ejecución en los dos. Los resultados mostraron que la instrucción fue efectiva, de tal manera que los sujetos instruídos en identificación mejoraron la ejecución en este componente, al igualque los instruídos en reducción también mejoraron en este aspecto. Sin embargo, no encontramos diferencias despué de la instrucción en el componente no instruído. Por último, la mejora en estas estrategiasparece no afectar al modelo de la situación.

文章根据组马克提出的翻译法选择方法论,及其提出的语义翻译和交际翻译法理论,文章认为导游词的翻译应运用交际翻译法,并在这一理论指导下,提出了导游词翻译的目的是实现导游词的信息和呼唤功能,并以新疆景点介绍的英译为例,根据译文接受者即外国游客需要的基础上,对源语信息进行增、删、改等处理,以便最佳地实现译文的信息和呼唤功能。

陈垣校勘《元典章》，对校出的12000条错误进行分析和概括，撰写完成《校勘学释例》，从而揭示出古代典籍的窜乱通弊，对历代校勘古籍的方法、通例和一般原则做了系统归纳和总结，使校勘学走上科学的轨道，奠定了校勘学的理论基础。     

Using Coh-Metrix to Automatically Access Discourse Coherence in EFL Learners’Writing:A Quantitative Analysis

The purpose of the present study was to use Coh-Metrix,a computational tool,to examine the relationship between discourse coherence and writing level,and analyze the coherence of high level writing and low level writing.The study uses 5 Coh-Metrix variables to analyze 40 college students’timed compositions from Chinese Learners English of Corpus(CLEC) and their corresponding readability scores.The study demonstrates that Coh-Metrix variables,number of words,words per sentences,the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level,LSA sentence all,and argument overlap can contribute to text coherence.Findings of the study indicate:there is a relationship between discourse coherence and writing level,but there is no significant difference between high level group and low level group in discourse coherence(p=.409>.05),and writing level can not distinguish discourse coherence in EFL learners’writing.
