We Are All Librarians: Training in the Ever Evolving Information Commons

The University of Arizona Library opened its Information Commons in January of 2002. The University of Arizona Library developed an in-depth training program to ensure that the individuals staffing the Information Commons Reference Desk were able to support the varied and complex questions that can be asked in a resource and technology rich environment. In this article, the authors describe the development and evolution of the training program that was created at the University of Arizona and share examples of training documents.

学习共享空间是信息共享空间的进一步发展,提供实体学习环境、信息技术支持和其他服务来满足个人 学习、科学研究和协作式学习等的需求。文章借鉴评价图书馆满意度的模型和相关理论,利用调查问卷和结构方程模 型的方法进行分析,旨在验证图书馆满意度模型在评价学习共享空间满意度的适用性。研究表明,图书馆满意度模型 要应用到学习共享空间的测度需要进一步改进, 但测度结果对于学习共享空间的完善和发展有一定的指导意义。     

The Info Commons Concept

Abstract

The University of Florida Libraries took the opportunity of remodeling its Humanities and Social Sciences library to conceptualize the design of an info commons area for the new building. An Info Commons Concept Team was formed and charged with this task. The team used site visits, surveys, focus groups, and interviews to determine the needs of today's library users. This paper describes the informationgathering process and categorizes the data gathered into several areas of need, including service, workstation components, laptop support, and space and environment.     

广东汉剧早期外江乐班本土化历程

今天的广东汉剧与京剧同源异派,曾是粤东地区盛开的一朵鲜艳奇葩。为潮剧、正字戏、西秦戏等粤东各民间小戏的进一步完善与传播起到积极的作用。外江乐班是本戏种早期形态赖以生存的土壤,而粤东四大戏班为外江戏的生发、传播与演进起到至关重要的作用。本文从"外江班"与"本地班"的交流探寻其本土化历程。     

Ethnographic perspectives on student-centeredness in an academic library

This ethnographic study, conducted by undergraduate student-researchers under the supervision of the author, investigates an academic library that has implemented best practices for learning commons design and embedded information literacy programs. Data from field observations, participant interviews, and artifact analysis revealed conflicting perceptions of student-centeredness as it relates to learning commons design and information literacy pedagogy. The author argues that while the learning commons has been successful in attracting students to the library, there are unintended negative consequences to cross-training librarians, library staff, and partner service personnel working at key service points, which contribute to students’ lack of library awareness.

OER Commons项目是由美国教育领域的知识管理研究协会(ISKME)创建的共享开放教育资源的知识库与联接门户,旨在支持开放教育资源应用和重用。文章介绍了OER Commons项目的发展及其特色,并分析了该项目的开放机制,提出了对我国开放教育资源建设的启示。
