运用文献计量学方法,从基金论文率、资助基金级别、研究主题、研究方法、合著率、合作度、发文机构、作者所在区域等角度,对1998-2008年《情报科学》所载基金资助论文进行定量分析,以期从基金论文这一角度透视《情报科学》的学术水平和质量,并为情报学研究提供一些有益的参考。

Retrospective Enhancement of Thesis Cataloging and the Match Rate of Authors in National Authority Files

Abstract

The researchers extracted a disproportionate stratified random sample from 40?years of thesis bibliographic records at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. Match rates for thesis authors in the LC/NACO Name Authority File and in Canadiana Authorities were examined. ProQuest digitization of older theses, the creation of an institutional repository, the move to electronic theses and dissertations in 2011, and the implementation of vendor-assisted authority control in 2017 impacted bibliographic records. In addition to the dearth of matches in general, results uncovered false matches and significant changes to Library and Archives Canada thesis authority control practices over the years.     

Saving Brittle Books

Sources of information concerning paper deterioration and approaches to researching the preservation literature are offered as an aid to administrative decision-making. A suggested list of readings keyed to a study outline allows an overview of the issues and factors involved in the current brittle books problem. Though designed to give a broad background of basic information, the annotated bibliography can also be used to develop a shelf of reference materials for preservation managers.     

WorldCat,the Other ETD Database: An Exploratory Study

Many librarians perceive ProQuest’s Dissertations and Theses as the key resource for searching dissertations and theses. However, the Online Computer Library Center’s (OCLC’s) WorldCat also provides a means for locating electronic dissertations and theses. This study compared these two databases and found two key observations. First, both databases provided access to a similar number of citations. Second, WorldCat consistently had twice as many citations for which ProQuest had no records. WorldCat provides an important means of locating electronic theses and dissertations.     

Assessing the quality of PhD dissertations. A survey of external committee members

This article reports on a study of the quality assessment of doctoral dissertations, and asks whether examiner characteristics influence assessment of research quality in PhD dissertations. Utilising a multi-dimensional concept of quality of PhD dissertations, we look at differences in assessment of research quality, and particularly test whether prior relationship to supervisor, examiners’ assessment experience and the regional affiliation of examiners influence assessment, also controlling for academic fields and type of higher education institutions. The data are drawn from a survey to foreign members of thesis evaluation committees that served in the year 2010 at the Norwegian universities. The sample consisted of 1159 foreign committee members, representing a response rate of 79%. The results indicate that the regional affiliation and previous experience of committee members influence quality assessment significantly, but that the relationship to supervisor(s) was of little importance.     

落实科学发展观推进中小学体育科研的发展--全国第九届中学生运动会科学论文报告会论文综述

分析了全国第九届中学生运动会科学论文报告会报送的1950篇论文，指出此次论文报告会呈现出论文数量多、研究领域广、注重理论与实践的结合、精密围绕体育课程改革、对农村体育和西部学校体育日益关注及体育法规研究不断深入的特点，丰富和发展了学校体育理论研究。同时认为此次报告会论文存在分散研究偏多、有关改革的重大课题研究偏少，缺乏相关学科最新理论成果的有力支持；有些研究设计不够严谨以及分析论证不够深入，限于表面现象的描述等问题。     

博硕士学位论文发表状态及发表权初探

针对我国研究生学位论文收藏机构合理利用必须确认“博硕士学位论文是否已经发表作品”的问题,从学位授予的相关规定、图书情报档案机构的利用、对学位论文的整理报道等方面论述分析得出：在相关的图书馆、情报机构、挡案馆上架后,学位论文应该处于已发表状态。鉴于学位论文作品的特殊性及我国著作权法合理使用条件的严格,建议博硕士学位论文著作权人的发表权应受到限制。

关于图书馆服务职能与本科毕业论文的几点思考——一份基于英语专业本科论文写作现状的调查与思考

以英语专业本科毕业论文的现状作为案例,通过对英语专业学生毕业论文质量低下情况的分析研究,我们发现,学生论文中存在较为普遍的抄袭现象背后一个很重要的客观原因是学生文献信息的获取能力不足,手头掌握的资料不够充分。为此,我们对图书馆的服务职能进行了较为深入的思考,并提出一些可行的建议。切实有效地实践这些建议,有可能改变目前本科学生论文普遍低劣的现状。
