矿冶类文本的多元化特点及翻译原则

文章从文本类型理论入手,首先界定矿冶类文本的范围,结合实例分析该类文本的多元化语体特点,提出了术语与文化兼顾的信息性翻译原则,以期提高矿冶类文本的翻译质量,更好地促进世界矿冶文化的交流。     

C-E Translation of News under the Influence of Cultural Integration

With the rapid development of economy and technology, the world is becoming a global village. Cultural integration is an essential part under the globalization trend. Communications between different countries has been paid high attention to. News, as a carrier of the information, is received by large amount of people. Thus translators play an essential role in promoting the intercultural activity. The thesis discusses translation strategies in order to come up with a better idea of C-E translation under the influence of cultural integration.     

Advancing global capacity for engineering education research: relating research to practice,policy and industry

Findings are presented from a series of moderated interactive sessions held at international engineering education conferences between July 2007 and December 2008, where attendees discussed the current state and future trajectory of engineering education research. More specifically, this study examines how session attendees described: (1) the relationship between engineering education research and educational practice, policy considerations and industry; (2) important stakeholders, mechanisms/strategies and challenges for relating research to practice, policy and industry. Thematic analysis and open coding procedures were used to analyse the data collected at each session. In summary, frequent discussion and widespread consensus was observed about the need to relate engineering education research to the practice of engineering teaching. Discussions about relating research to policy and industry remain formative, but appear to be gaining traction. The paper concludes by proposing a cyclic model to better conceptualise how engineering education research can be strategically related to practice, profession and industry across diverse local and global contexts.

上党地区农村小学英语教师语音现状调查分析

作者通过调查发现欠发达地区的农村小学英语教师语音整体水平较低,其中超音位水平又低于音位水平.文章认为造成这一现象的主要原因是因为这一地区农村小学英语教师的学历层次较低、专职教师较少.另一方面,单音的掌握相对于超音位而言要相对容易,因此教师们基本具备这方面的知识.调查还表明欠发达地区的农村小学英语教师非常重视语音学习,渴望能有老师系统的指导.文章最后提出了具有针对性的语音培训模式,指出培训应重视语音意识,教给他们科学的练习方法,以达到自我监控及自我评估.

自"五四"以来,中国文学一方面在破旧立新中企图重新定位自己,同时又不可避免地卷入世界文学的大潮当中去,因此从世界语境中解读中国文学以及从中国文学中寻找世界性成为文学批评的一个重头戏。汉学家顾彬教授在访谈中认为,批评家应该将中国文学纳入世界语境中予以观照,而中国作家在保持自己特色的同时也应该多吸收外来营养以丰富自己的创作,而实现这种转变最有效的方式就是翻译。     

Knowledge of the alphabet and explicit awareness of phonemes in pre-readers: The nature of the relationship

This study was carried out to examine the extent to which preschool children are aware of the phonemic structure of the spoken word and to investigate how they acquire that knowledge. The four year old non-readers carried out a battery of takss designed to assess product name reading ability, knowledge of the alphabet, rhyme skills and explicit phonemic awareness ability. There was evidence that they generally acquired knowledge of the alphabet before they showed explicit phonemic awareness ability. Fixed order regression analyses showed that ability to read and write the alphabet generally accounted for unique variance in phoneme awareness and product name reading ability over and above that accounted for by rhyme skills but that rhyme ability accounted for no unique variance beyond that accounted for by alphabet knowledge. Further analyses showed that alphabet knowledge also contributed unique variance to product name reading ability over and above that accounted for by phonemic awareness ability but that the reverse was not the case. It was hypothesised that many preschool non-readers may start to gain an insight into the phonemic structure of the spoken word by becoming aware of the connection between the sounds of letters in environmental print and the sounds of the spoken word.
