社会主义和谐社会文化的功能、特征及构建原则

社会主义和谐社会的精神文化必须是以马列主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论和"三个代表"重要思想为指导的先进文化,这种先进文化的功能既表现在对社会发展的导向作用上,又表现在对社会的规范、调控作用上,还表现在对社会的凝聚作用和社会经济发展的驱动作用上.社会主义和谐社会的精神文化具有与社会主义市场经济相适应,与中华民族优秀传统文化相衔接又充分体现时代精神,与和谐社会要求相吻合的基本特征.构建社会主义和谐社会的精神文化应当坚持以真为魂,以人为本,以和为贵的原则.     

平行语料库检索软件SDAU-ParaConc设计与实现

当代语言研究离不开语料库,对语料库的检索需要计算机软件支持,但平行语料库检索软件数量极少,且存在不符合中国国情的情况。因此,有必要开发一款符合中国国情、适应大数据检索需求、减少语言研究中重复劳动的平行语料库检索软件。在考察现有4款平行语料库检索软件,对比分析它们各自的优势及不足后,结合中国国情及语言研究实践经验,提出了新的平行语料库检索软件SDAU-ParaConc设计理念。介绍了SDAU-ParaConc的实现方式与特点。与之前的软件对比结果表明,SDAU-ParaConc操作步骤平均简化了60%,检索效率平均提升了9.5%。     

Translation Analysis from Functional Linguistics Perspective

As a branch of linguistics,Functional Grammar plays an important role in translation analysis.From the perspective of patterns of progression and cohesion,a text and its translation from TEM8 examination is studied as an example to get some general rules,and thus,a new approach of translation analysis is offered.

The Implication of Prosodic Features’ Pragmatic Functions-For Teaching Listening and Speaking

Interactive communication is not straightforward but complicated. Prosodic features play an influential role in English communication. They can be used to signal certain pragmatic purposes in real situations for listeners and speakers to have mutual understanding. Identifying the pragmatic functions of prosodic features will facilitate the teaching of listening and speaking. English teachers need to clarify and emphasize the relationship between prosodic features and their pragmatic functions, attempting to work out how to combine them together into teaching in order to teach students to communicate effectively.

Blended Literal Communication in Translation

There is a natural tension between Literal and Communication translation methods and has been going on now for two millenniums. We must be faithful to the original meaning of the source language (SL) and accurate in our translation but flexible enough to communicate naturally to the target language (TL) readers. While it may seem hopeless to truly communicate with all languages and cultures, with the growing global economy and the more interdependent we become, it is even more important that we continue to try to blend our thoughts and hearts together. So with foolish confidence and wise trepidation, this paper will wade into the age long discussion on the practice of translation and teaching, attempting to reconcile the theories of literal or semantic and free or communication translation theories.

近年来,随着改革开放的深入和玉溪经济的不断发展,双语公示语大量出现在玉溪市的公共场所。该文选取从四家主要医院实地采集到的大量公示语语料作为研究个案,对玉溪市医疗卫生行业公示语的英译现状进行了调查与分析,并提出了改进意见。
