Young black women curate visual arts e-portfolios: negotiating digital disciplined identities,infrastructural inequality and public visibility

ABSTRACT

Despite the growing importance of digital portfolios for justifying creative work and study opportunities, little is known about arts students’ creative appropriation of online portfolios in secondary school. In particular, there is a research gap concerning the challenges that young black women face when curating portfolios as visual arts students. This paper describes the key challenges that three such government school students negotiated when taught to creatively appropriate an online portfolio software for curating showcase visual arts e-portfolios: In formal contexts, art students’ e-portfolios are strongly shaped by assimilatory norms. Visual arts students who want to develop portfolios that follow local or global crafts and fandoms must negotiate their low status in, or complete exclusion from, the national syllabus. Students in under-resourced school and home settings may already be using other online portfolio solutions that suit their purposes better than the particular software prescribed in arts lessons. Online portfolios are public by default and young women negotiated this risk by using pseudonymous self-presentations. Each student's classroom practices were also constrained by a technology selected for its minimalist exhibition aesthetic. Students curated showcase exhibitions, but the prescribed service did not facilitate a wider exploration of contemporary digital practices.     

大学生课堂注意力转移及其替代性研究——以英语教学为例

课堂注意力是英语教学中一个非常值得关注的要素,直接影响着教学效果。此前的学者们更多关注注意力的吸引,但基本上没人过多关注注意力的转移和替代。本文试图从对大学生英语课堂注意力的转移及其替代入手,研究如何提高学生注意力,最终提升英语教学质量。研究结果表明,通过对课堂注意力的过程控制,教师完全可以掌控课堂,提高学生的学习兴趣,提升教学质量。     

谈视觉思维在广场体育艺术中的运用

文章运用文献资料法、事例分析法、综合论述法等研究方法,对视觉思维模式及其在广场体育艺术中的运用进行研究,为广场体育艺术这种大型表演的编排和设计找到一些突破口,开阔设计者的想象空间,调动他们思维的积极性,打破常规的思维方式,提高创编者的创造力和想象力,从而设计出具有较高艺术性和地方特色,且与众不同的大型运动会开闭幕式表演。     

分心作业对环境主导注意型运动员返回抑制的影响

考察分心作业对环境主导注意型运动员返回抑制时程的影响。采用线索—靶子范式,试验1和试验2分别以普通大学生、新手型运动员和专家型运动员各16名作为被试,包括3种SOA水平(200 ms,400 ms,700 ms)。在试验1和试验2的中央注视点分别安排无分心作业和有分心作业,对3组被试之间的返回抑制时程进行比较。试验1结果表明:无分心作业时,普通大学生在SOA为400 ms和700 ms出现返回抑制,新手型运动员和专家型运动员在SOA为200 ms、400 ms和700 ms均出现返回抑制;试验2结果表明:有分心作业时,普通大学生与新手型运动员的返回抑制消失,专家型运动员在SOA为400 ms和700 ms仍然保留返回抑制。环境主导注意型运动员具有更强的返回抑制能力,专家型运动员能够采取更为有效的注意加工策略,表现出较好的认知控制能力或抗干扰能力。     

Attentional capture by spoken language: effects on netballers’ visual task performance

Abstract

In two experiments, participants performed visual detection, visual discrimination and decision-making tasks, in which a binary (left/right) response was required. In all experimental conditions, a spoken word (“left”/“right”) was presented monaurally (left or right ear) at the onset of the visual stimulus. In Experiment 1, 26 non-athletes located a target amongst an array of distractors as quickly as possible, in both the presence and absence of spoken cues. Participants performed superiorly in the presence of valid cues, relative to invalid-cue and control conditions. In Experiment 2, 42 skilled netballers completed three tasks, in randomised order: a visual detection task, a visual discrimination task and a netball decision-making task – all in the presence of spoken cues. Our data showed that spoken auditory cues affected not only target detection, but also performance on more complex decision-making tasks: cues that were either spatially or semantically invalid slowed target detection time; spatially invalid cues impaired discrimination task accuracy; and cues that were either spatially or semantically valid improved accuracy and speeded decision-making time in the netball task. When studying visual perception and attention in sport, the impact of concomitant auditory information should be taken into account in order to achieve a more representative task design.     

一次性功率自行车锻炼持续时间对认知功能的影响研究

目的：使用事件相关电位研究比较不同功率自行车锻炼的持续时间对认知能力短期影响差异。方法：25名被试在功率自行车上进行75％VO2 max的的强度骑自行车,在实施前、运动15min、30min和60min采集行为学和脑电数据进行分析。结果：运动30min和60min后的P300反应时和振幅大于运动前,运动15min和运动前的反应时和振幅无明显差异。结论：30分钟以上有氧运动后认知功能提高。     

天水伏羲文化资源及旅游开发论析

天水是“羲皇故里,”伏羲文化资源丰富,从大处着眼,主要由五个方面构成:“羲皇故里”、卦台山和伏羲庙、秦安和甘谷伏羲遗迹、女娲庙、伏羲女娲传说。就旅游角度而言,天水伏羲文化资源属人文旅游资源,既有伏羲庙等文物古迹,又有伏羲祭典等节庆习俗,还有大量的伏羲女娲传说,具备满足各种旅游需求的综合性特质,古远博大,神秘神圣,特色鲜明。对这样一种稀缺资源应该悉心保护、深入研究,抓住亮点着力开发,使之为天水的经济和文化发展起到积极推动作用。     

内隐学习研究的现状及问题

内隐学习是一个新兴的研究领域。Reber首先提出内隐学习概念，近年来对内隐学习又有了新的界定。内隐学习有五个特性：自动性、抽象性、理解性、抗干扰性、三高特征。内隐学习的研究方法包括：人工语法、视空概念、概率学习、序列反应时任务。近年来对内隐学习的潜在机制有了很多全新研究成果。     

视觉文化与当代小说中女性形象的变迁

视觉文化不仅为我们带来了大量的影像,更为重要的是,它颠覆了人们传统以来的世界观和生活方式。从根本上讲,这种变化是从以语言为中心的意象转向以视觉为中心的形象。在当代小说中,则无疑呈现出一些新的审美风貌。     

Preservice teachers’ self‐efficacy in managing students with symptoms of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder: The roles of diagnostic label and students’ gender

The present study investigated preservice teachers’ self‐efficacy in classroom management involving students with symptoms of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). A total of 137 Chinese preservice teachers were randomly presented with one of four vignettes involving a student character with ADHD symptoms, with manipulations including the character’s gender and diagnostic label of ADHD. Upon reading the vignette, participants responded to questions concerning their self‐efficacy in inclusive classroom management involving the character. Findings based on analysis of covariance indicated an interaction effect of the vignette character’s gender and label on teachers’ self‐efficacy. Specifically, teachers perceived greater self‐efficacy in a classroom involving a girl with an ADHD label than in a classroom involving a girl with no label or a boy with a label. Findings enriched the literature concerning the roles of gender and label in preservice teachers’ self‐efficacy toward inclusive classroom management.
