A Useful System in Learning and Teaching English Pronunciation——IPA Cardinal Vowels System

The paper introduces the cardinal vowels system invented by the famous English phonetician Daniel Jones.This system enables a teacher to describe to his students a foreign vowel by comparing it with the nearest vowel in his mother tongue,which makes the learning of a foreign sound much easier to his students.Two cases of teaching Chinese students English vowels are taken as an example to illustrate the point.IPA cardinal vowel system is of use in terms of teaching and learning English.Two suggestions are put forward in the end.     

Students’ Preferences Regarding Four Characteristics of Information Literacy Screencasts

Information literacy screencasts were created by librarians and integrated into all of the nursing department's distance learning courses. Before creating more videos, the researcher decided to evaluate the screencasts’ effectiveness based on certain video characteristics. The researcher identified four characteristics that might affect students’ opinions of the screencasts’ effectiveness and developed guidelines based on the findings. It is hoped that by creating tutorials that are responsive to the preferences of distance learning students, librarians can improve their reach to these students.     

Compression of double array structures for fixed length keywords

A trie is one of the data structures for keyword matching. It is used in natural language processing, IP address routing, and so on. It is represented by the matrix form, the link form, the double array, and LOUDS. The double array representation combines retrieval speed of the matrix form with compactness of the list form. LOUDS is a succinct data structure using bit-string. Retrieval speed of LOUDS is not faster than that of the double array, but its space usage is smaller. This paper proposes a compressed version of the double array by dividing the trie into multiple levels and removing the BASE array from the double array. Moreover, a retrieval algorithm and a construction algorithm are proposed. According to the presented experimental results for pseudo and real data sets, the retrieval speed of the presented method is almost the same as the double array, and its space usage is compressed to 66% comparing with LOUDS for a large set of keywords with fixed length.

以英国为代表的欧洲国家其文化繁荣曾大大受益于"一臂之距"的文化管理机制。文章将通过"一臂之距"原则的基本含义、内涵及适用条件分析研究,详细解读英国文化管理中"一臂之距"原则的主体系统,并对我国区域应用"一臂之距"原则的可行性分析。最后结合我国文化管理现况,提出"一臂之距"中国化的路径与思路创新,以期日后促进我国区域文化管理发展。     

FSAE赛车制动系统的设计及其优化

按照FSAE规定,赛车制动系统要求简单控制,必须有两条液压回路而且每条液压回路必须有独立的储液罐,不允许采用带有助力的制动装置。将制动系统全部采用液压动力制动系统。这种方式作用滞后时间较短、工作压力高,因而主缸尺寸小,使制动器结构简单、质量小、机械效率高。假定附地面附着系数为0.8的情况下,赛车以20km/h制动的情况下计算了赛车的最大减速度和制动距离。对于制动系统的设计和优化具有指导性的意义。

对中、外优秀竞走运动员关键动作技术特征的运动学分析

对影响和制约我国竞走运动员成绩发挥的因素进行分析和研究。研究发现,我国运动员小步幅,高步频技术风格依然存在。整体来看,我国运动员重心和头顶点垂直起伏较大,容易被裁判员判罚。我国部分运动员存在左、右腿力量分配不均衡现象,且上肢摆动幅度较小。     

游泳运动员指长比与运动能力的相关分析

目的:了解游泳运动员的指长比特征。探讨其指长比尤其是2D:4D和运动能力之间的相关关系。方法:运用PS 8.0图像处理软件测量游泳运动员的指长。SPSS13.0统计软件对指长比进行单因素方差分析和皮尔逊相关分析等。结果:指长比(2D:4D)在运动员与非运动员之间存在着显著性差异(P<0.05)。运动员组间比较结果为,运动健将和一级运动员之间无显著性差异(P>0.05);运动健将和二级运动员,一级运动员和二级运动员之间,2D:4D存在着显著性差异(P<0.05)。2D:4D与运动员运动能力的相关性分析结果是男性比女性显著,右侧比左侧显著。结论:游泳运动员的指长比(2D:4D)与游泳运动能力有关,且与运动等级水平之间呈负相关。对运动员的2D:4D和运动能力之间的相关分析结果可为运动员选材指标的优化研究提供理论依据。

专利长度、宽度和高度的福利效应及最优设计

 文章通过构建一个两厂商累积创新竞赛模型,分析专利制度对厂商创新信息披露和社会研发投入的影响,并基于社会福利最大化原则对最优专利长度、宽度、高度进行了设置。结果显示,专利长度有利于信息披露,专利宽度对信息披露的影响呈现倒U型关系;社会研发投入与专利长度成反比,与专利宽度呈现正U型关系,与专利高度呈现倒U型关系;适当的专利宽度,长期限,高新奇或短期限,低新奇的组合是最优专利保护模式。
