Manufacturing education: the commercial development of educational products for schools

By designing products that ultimately structure meaning in lessons, the industry that produces teaching materials for schools shapes teaching practice and everyday learning situations in schools across geographical borders. The design and development of such learning resources is a professional practice that has hitherto received very little academic attention. This lacuna is addressed in our paper, which presents an analysis of this aspect of educational practice based upon insights gained from ethnographic research. Light is shed upon specific ways of addressing and guiding pupils, teaching staff, and customers, which result from processes of negotiation between representatives of different professions including scientists, teachers, publishers and distributors. These processes ultimately provide classrooms with products that have been shaped by ideas about schooling. It becomes clear that the development of such materials is shaped by multiple perspectives on school education. As an exemplary case study, we describe in detail the process by which such materials make well-known, everyday phenomena abstract or ‘alien’ so that they can then be recontextualised and presented anew – as phenomena to be understood with the aid of school-taught knowledge.

运用校验技术研究复合材料性能的理论预测值与实验值间的关系.结果表明,借助于校验技术,可以对已有理论进行甄别,并判断出指导实验的最佳理论.这一技术在材料性能研究中的应用可以为理论研究提供新的方法,促进理论与实验间的相互验证和融合.     

北京高师平民教育社述论

五四时期,北京高师平民教育社通过刊发<平民教育>杂志、约请名流、学者进行专题演讲、编译书籍等活动,不仅形成了系统的,颇具革命色彩的平民教育思想体系,而且在全校范围内掀起了平民教育活动的高潮,已然成为中国宣传平民教育以及整个新教育的一大中心.这些成就的取得,是与该社拥有一支教育专业的骨干力量、经营方式较为灵活,且得到校方的支持分不开的.但是,由于脱离不了教育救国论的藩篱,平民教育社最终走向衰落.     

类书文学价值摭谈——以《全芳备祖》为例

作为中国古代大型资料汇编性书籍的类书,其文献学价值众所周知。但其价值又不限于"辑佚"层面。从文学角度观照类书,类书的类目结构、文献材料的取舍显示出较高的文学研究价值,其中透露出的文学观念与文化信息往往启发或影响着古代文学研究。以《全芳备祖》为基点,探讨类书的文学价值。     

Spanish Language Children and Teen Books Focusing on Human Sexuality and Reproductive Health

Talking to children and teens about sexuality is difficult for most parents, especially for those whose primary language is Spanish. Teens who come to the United States from Spanish speaking countries are also at a disadvantage because of a language barrier. Many times there is a lack of high quality Spanish materials that have been reviewed on the topic of sex and reproductive health. There are serious consequences of unplanned teen pregnancies to communities such as poverty, low educational attainment and other health disparities. This bibliography reviews human sexuality titles in Spanish for both children and teens. Professionals in the healthcare or medical libraries, school librarians, public librarians and academic librarians will find this bibliography valuable for the purposes of educating the public and developing their institution’s collection.     

Orphan Works at Theatre Library and Information Centres: Assessing Librarians' Perceptions and Management in Spain

Currently, libraries and other information services are facing new professional challenges in relation to digitization policies and orphan works after the publication of European Directive 2012/28/EU on certain permitted uses of orphan works and Spanish Royal Decree 224/2016. This paper aims to analyse how Spanish library and information centres specialising in theatre and performing arts meet users' textual and non-textual information needs, by respecting copyright issues and being involved in a dynamic and digital environment. For this purpose, an online questionnaire, which was used as a methodological tool, was sent to library directors in February 2018. At the same time, some research questions based on orphan works and digitisation approaches are discussed in the paper, specifically in reference to graphic and audiovisual materials.     

高职校本教材建设及其课堂教学实效性研究

高职教育发展时间短,以突破"本科压缩饼干"为目标的改革正在兴起,课程开发和教材建设只能以学校为主体,因而校本课程、校本教材必然成为当前和今后一个时期高职院校课程开发和教材建设的主流。为了保证校本教材建设的质量,应当建立校本教材教学有效性考核评价的体系与机制,建立和实行教材建设立项评审、结项验收和教学考评相结合,同行专家评审和学生评教相结合的评价体系和评价制度。按照职业性、实践性、开放性的要求,针对不同类型的课程,制订相应的评价标准。黎明职业大学经过多年的实践,初步建立了课程和教材建设立项管理和教学实效性考核的指导思想、管理办法和评价体系,在提高校本教材教学实效性方面作出了有益的探索。

陶瓷文化旅游文本是旅游者了解景德镇的重要窗口,其英文翻译质量将直接影响景德镇的国际形象。通过实例分析现有旅游文本英译中的弊端,对规范旅游文本的英译提出了一些建议,以便更好地弘扬陶瓷文化,提升景德镇作为中国瓷都的国际化形象。
