从诗文酬唱看苏轼与黄庭坚的非凡友谊

苏轼是我国北宋中期文坛上的领袖,黄庭坚为苏门学士并开一代诗派。师徒之间诗文酬唱频繁,友谊非凡。从他们大量的酬唱诗文来看,二人之间的友谊体现在他们生活志趣以及人格理想上的相知相通,诗歌艺术上的交流切磋、争奇斗巧和宦海沉浮,人生遭遇中的勖勉与慰藉等方面。     

从教育传播学的视角分析远程高等教育质量保障

在我国高等教育大众化的发展过程中,远程高等教育得到了快速发展,在硬件设施和办学规模的扩张上尤其引人注目。但是,远程高等教育质量却一直令人担忧。为了更好地促进现代远程教育的发展,构建完善可行的远程高等教育质量保障体系势在必行。文章试图以拉斯维尔的"5W"传播模式为基础,分别研究了远程教育过程的5大传播要素和学习支持服务体系,并从教育传播学的视角提出了完善远程教育质量保障体系的几点建议。     

浅谈日语语用教学及语用能力的培养

目前日语教学仍然受传统教学模式的影响,注重学生的语法能力,相对忽视学生的语用能力。面对生活中学生出现的＂语用失败＂,结合我国日语语用教学的现状,课堂上开展潜移默化的语用教学是很有必要的。语用知识是应该教授,也是可以教授的。通过教学内容、教学手段、评价方式的改革、显性教学和隐形教学方法的结合才能真正提高学生的语用能力。还应注意进一步完善日语教材,更加注重文化教学和语言联系,教师不断自我学习,才能实现师生语用能力的共同提高。     

湖北省省属地方高校新闻传播教育困境分析——以湖北文理学院新闻系为例

地方高校由于地理位置和办学层次的差异,教育资源相对缺乏。当前地方高校新闻传播教育面临着最根本的问题：师资结构上的缺陷和设备的不足与浪费。前者表现为：教师数量相对不足,职称、学历相对偏低,专业不对口,缺乏实践经验等;后者表现为实验设备的老化落后和虚置浪费。地方高校要解决这两方面问题,首先应该充分认识新闻传播学科的现实性和交叉性特征,更新教育观念;其次应该联合地方媒体和其他名校,走合作培养传媒人才之路。     

Police-Civilian Interaction,Compliance, Accommodation,and Trust in an Intergroup Context: International Data

Abstract

Prior cross-cultural research has produced models of police-civilian interaction that highlight the effect of officers’ communication accommodation and reported trust in police on attitudinal outcomes. The present study, conducted in Korea, Japan, Guam, and Canada and involving 684 university students, continued this program of research by testing a theoretical model exploring the influence of perceived police officer communication accommodation and reported trust in police on attitudes about compliance with police requests. Findings indicated that across study locations perceived police officer communication accommodation predicted trust in police which, in turn, predicted attitudes about compliance with police requests.     

Thawing the North: Mostly Martha as a German-Italian Eatopia

Abstract

The establishment of the European Union, reunification of Germany, and Germany's extension of dual citizenship to immigrant minorities provided challenges to the country's understanding of itself as a nation. In negotiating these changes, debates on citizenship frequently centered on definitions of German culture. Using the concept of Leitkultur (guiding culture), conservatives argued that Germany should reject multiculturalism and stem immigration. This essay analyzes discourses on cultural policy in Germany through a contextual and textual analysis of the film Mostly Martha. In its alignment with aesthetic conventions of the art house food film, Mostly Martha participates in the debate on cultural citizenship and embodies changes in the German film industry that have moved German cinema toward increased commercialism. The film's main character, Martha, is transformed through an intercultural relationship and a trip to Italy. We argue that the film's citation of this well-known tradition of traveling south to redeem oneself and its treatment of ethnic “Otherness” engages in the Leitkultur debate and participates in the transition from national German to transnational cinema. Through the utopian treatment of Italian food, the film fetishizes cultural difference and reaffirms fixed constructs of nation and gender, thereby avoiding an explicitly politicized engagement with intercultural citizenship and identity.     

Research and Publication by Communication Faculty in East Africa: A Challenge to the Global Community of Communication Scholars

Abstract

Few African scholars publish articles in top journals, present papers at prestigious conferences, or produce monographs that influence the direction of the field of communication as a whole. We explored hindrances to scholarly productivity in East Africa by administering questionnaires to faculty members at five leading communication departments and conducting in-depth interviews with department heads, librarians, and other senior faculty members. Results indicated that an increase in institutional priority on research and publication makes this an opportune juncture for collaboration with the international scholarly community to facilitate research and publication activity by African academics.     

Still the Dark Continent: A Content Analysis of Research About Africa and by African Scholars in 18 Major Communication-Related Journals

Research about African communication and studies by African-affiliated authors remain scarce in the field of communication. To establish a comprehensive picture of the state of scholarship, 5,228 articles published in 18 top communication journals between 2004 and 2010 were reviewed. Articles were coded for topic nation, author affiliation, article type, category of communication studied, and research method. Thirty-nine Africa-focused articles including 25 authored by researchers from African institutions were found. Over half addressed health communication; most focused on Kenya and South Africa. Means are suggested by which the international scholarly community can partner to encourage African scholarship.     

Global Health Interventions and the “Common Sense” of Neoliberalism: A Dialectical Analysis of PEPFAR

Abstract

Neoliberal ideologies, implicated in increasing global inequality, have significantly influenced how global health interventions are conceived and executed. In this article, we take a critical stance towards the market-based impetus of neoliberalism as articulated in the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the largest comprehensive effort against the global HIV/AIDS epidemic. Using a variety of PEPFAR policy documents, our analysis points to the operation of a neoliberal “common sense” that provides a justification for intervention. Our analysis resulted in three themes: (a) the body as labor, (b) the gendering of the intervention, and (c) political economies of partnerships.     

Lean information for lean communication: Analysis of concepts,tools, references,and terms

Communication and information processes are vital in any company. The use of lean manufacturing concepts applied to the communication and information process aims to reduce waste and make the flows leaner and simpler. Lean information is a new strand of lean concepts and applications. The purpose of this study was to analyze quantitatively the publications concerning the subject, outlining an overview for the new research field of lean communication. Aiming for a deeper understanding, the concepts of lean information were applied in a real process. The quantitative analysis was carried out to find the main authors and works, as well as the main terms used in related works. We used the methods of citations works, co-citation references, and co-occurrence of words using the VOSviewer software. This software was primarily designed to analyze bibliometric networks in order to create, visualize, and assess maps based on network data generated from queries in journals. We found a lack of a methodology for the development and implementation of lean information concepts. We observed a gap which had not been addressed yet, that is, mapping communication flows and developing and implementing lean information. Moreover, there was no method for improvement, implementation, and control.
