在苗族文化中 ,民主、自由现象较为突出 ,此文对这一现象进行了简要的描述 ,并着重探讨形成此现象的主要原因 :长期、频繁的迁徙和经济的落后 ,指出了苗族文化在我国传统文化现代转化中的重要价值和意义。

试论民主进程与经济进程的协调关系

民主进程从来不是单独在政治领域里完成的,它总是与经济领域、文化领域的发展相关,其中经济进程对民主进程的影响尤为显著。列宁说过,政治是经济的集中表现,而民主政治则是经济发展到一定阶段以后出现的产物,它的发展、完善也离不开一定的经济发展阶段。     

Reflections on religious nationalism,conflict and schooling in developing democracies: India and Israel in comparative perspective

This article explores the relationship between the propagation of religious nationalist citizenship discourses in classrooms and inter‐religious conflict in the context of two developing democracies, India and Israel. The author concludes that students schooled in religious nationalist ideology in developing nations are at greater risk of accepting exclusionary citizenship discourses without adequate critical analyses of their implications due to poor nations' tendencies toward teacher‐centred and textbook‐based instruction that neglects the development of critical thinking faculties. The acceptance of these ideologies appears to be correlated with an increase in inter‐religious conflict, social destabilization and the subversion of democracy. The corruption of democratic ideals by religiously motivated citizenship discourses has however been partially offset by the power of the vote and other structures inherent in democracy.     

Equity,democracy, and neoliberal assaults on teacher education

Although in the long run, neoliberalism has a track record of undermining equity and democracy, in the short run it has directed attention to education needs that have been inadequately addressed. This article sketches what teacher education in the US can do to advance equity and democracy in five areas: recruitment and admission, early fieldwork, professional coursework, student teaching, and on-going professional development. The article then examines three neoliberal pressures teacher education: (1) away from explicit equity-oriented teacher preparation, and toward preparing teachers as technicians; (2) away from defining teacher quality in terms of professional knowledge, and toward defining it terms testable content knowledge; and (3) toward shortening university-based teacher education or by-passing it altogether. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of collaborating with underserved communities as a way of pushing back against neoliberalism.     

Activity frames and complexity thinking: Honoring both public and personal agendas in an emergent curriculum

This article which is largely conceptual in nature, explores the possibilities provided by embracing complexity thinking that are attentive to, but not confined by, externally imposed curriculum mandates while simultaneously honoring the interests and needs of individual students and the classroom collective. From this perspective, the ideas of negotiating authority, adopting a holistic view, engaging in participatory democratic practices, and using a project-based approach to learning are examined. In doing so, the concept of ‘activity frames’ is introduced and developed as a useful way of responding to curriculum mandates while being responsive to and respectful of individual and collective student learning agendas.

《新民主主义论》的文化观内涵及现实意义

毛泽东在《新民主主义论》中所阐述的新民主主义文化纲领,科学回答了半封建半殖民地的中国先进文化的前进方向问题。其现实意义在于,其中所阐述的文化和经济、政治辩证关系的思想是中国先进文化前进所必须遵循的基本指导思想;所阐明的新民主主义文化的内涵和原则构成了中国先进文化发展方向的重要内容;所指出的新民主主义文化发展的措施为中国先进文化的前进提供了有益借鉴。
