A diagnosis of AD/HD may tell us that the child has the core characteristics of inattentiveness, impulsivity and or hyperactivity, but it fails to convey the extent to which the social context of the child's environment manipulates these characteristics. This article reports on how children with a diagnosis of AD/HD view the impact their social environment has on their behaviour; providing us with insight into how educational and medical intervention strategies are failing to achieve their potential. The findings suggest that if children with AD/HD and their families are to benefit from educational and medical intervention then stakeholders need to work together to provide coordinated and consistent support.  相似文献

This article offers productive usability as a usability approach that focuses on the usefulness of civic Web sites. Although some sites meet traditional usability standards, civic sites might fail to support technical literacy, productive inquiry, collaboration, and a multidimensional perspective—all essential ingredients for citizen-initiated change online. In this article, we map productive usability onto broader philosophies of usability and offer a framework for rethinking usability in civic settings and for teaching productive usability.  相似文献

This study examines several key design elements of 37 academic library Web sites (members of the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries) and how they have changed between 2012 and 2015. While several studies have reviewed library Web sites looking for common design elements and content, the present work may be the first to look at the design elements of a large group of library Web sites over time. This study has two main goals: to present an objective analysis of the navigation and search interface designs at research university library Web sites, and to assess the usage of Web-scale discovery systems and content management systems in libraries. Other areas explored include when sites were most recently redesigned and whether sites have adopted a mobile-friendly, responsive design. Notable findings include a very high usage of Web-scale discovery systems, an increasing adoption of open source content management systems, and increasing implementation of responsive design. Also noted was a strong and growing standardization in navigation design. This study concludes with a review of the trends and discussion of current design patterns in academic library Web sites.  相似文献

有些学者对“发明四声”说法提出批评,认为汉语的"四声"不是任何人所能发明创造的。然而“发明四声”又被语言学界许多学者所普遍接受并继续使用。这对矛盾是由“发明”的古今词义的不同造成的:“发明”在古汉语中是表“发现”义,在现代则是表“创造”义。因而,在古代“发明四声”说法是正确的,现代学者继续使用“发明四声”则是由于仿古文写作和习惯用法的原因。  相似文献

名胜古迹名称与普通名称相比具有很大商业价值,是宝贵的无形财产;名胜古迹名称应当归名胜古迹单位所有。抢注名胜古迹名称行为是一种侵权行为。名胜古迹单位应利用商标法等法律法规,通过异议程序撤销被抢注商标或通过协商实现收购、共有或许可使用;未被抢注的应尽快通过注册商标、认定驰名商标等手段,加强对名胜古迹名称无形财产权的法律保护。解决问题的根本途径还是从限制商标注册范围、认定所有名胜古迹名称为驰名商标等方面修订、完善现行商标法律制度。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Based on an ethnographic study, this article presents the class-based disparities of Chinese parents’ usage of WeChat, the dominating social networking mobile application in China, in their educational involvement. We find that middle-class parents are the privileged ones who have exploited the use of WeChat not only as a medium for communication, but more as a mode of influence. Through WeChat, their various forms of capital are channelled to catalyse changes in their children's education. In contrast, working-class parents tend to act as absent participants in using WeChat for their educational involvement. We argue that WeChat has brought forth the consequence of widening the arena for winning or losing at the educational game for parents from different social classes. We call for corrective policies and guidelines on the usage of WeChat and other SNSs technologies in home–school dynamics.  相似文献
