嵌入式Linux平台应用研究

嵌入式系统开发早期多用在工业控制领域，但是随着移动通信、智能家电、网络家电的普及，嵌入式系统应用开发越来越广泛，它所带来的经济利益吸引了众多国内外厂商投资其中．文章在介绍了嵌入式系统和嵌入式操作系统的基本知识基础上，指出了Linnu作为嵌入式操作系统所具有的优势，并给出了基于Linux的嵌入式系统开发设计应用中应该注意的一些问题及实际应用举例。     

Creating Opportunities: Embedded Librarians

ABSTRACT

Embedded librarianship focuses on the user and brings the library and the librarian to the user, wherever they are—office, laboratory, home, or even on their mobile device. This article provides an overview of the various ways libraries and librarians are embedding themselves into research and learning environs. Several roles are highlighted, including course-integrated instruction librarians as members of research teams, librarians collaborating with faculty in scholarly communication activities and librarians as partners in multidisciplinary, global, and virtual collaborations. Definitions of key terms precede the overview and provide context; consideration of the human resources side of the equation follows. Reflections on organizational structure conclude the article.

一种嵌入式芯片IP核-I2C接口的仿真验证方法

基于Synopsys公司的12C接口的IP核,给出了该IP在中断／查询模式下和DMA模式下的验证方法。该嵌入式芯片的I2C接口与芯片外的一片EEPROM相接,芯片内置ARM对12C接口的相应寄存器进行配置,通过I2C接口与EEPROM之间的通信来实现该接口IP高效的验证。     

The emergence of openness: How and why firms adopt selective revealing in open innovation

Open innovation is often facilitated by strong intellectual property rights (IPRs), but it may also function, and even be boosted, when firms deliberately waive some of their IPRs. Extant literature has pointed out the potential benefits of such behavior, but falls short of explaining what triggers firms to practice it in the first place and to maintain or extend it. Since the waiving of IPRs runs counter to common views on strategy and competition and to engrained practices, this is a non-trivial question. To address it, we conduct an empirical study in a segment of the computer component industry which traditionally has taken a rather proprietary stance. With the advent of the open source operating system Linux, firms increasingly waived their IPRs on software drivers. We trace and analyze this process using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Our results indicate that component makers went through a learning process, which led some to realize how selectively waiving IPRs may be beneficial for their business. We uncover customer demand pull as the initial trigger and observe how a positive feedback loop sets in subsequently, leading to a further increase in the use of selective revealing. Overall, we find that openness develops into a new dimension of competition. We discuss the implication of our findings for research on open innovation and highlight how they impact managers in practice.     

Transitioning to the Embedded Librarian Model and Improving the Senior Capstone Business Strategy Course

In collaboration with a strategy professor, a research librarian at a four-year SACS and AACSB-accredited Southern college transitioned from the one-time library instruction model to the role of an embedded librarian within a senior-level capstone course over a multi-year transition period. Through the use of multiple quantitative and qualitative assessment instruments, as well as anecdotal comments, and finally pre- and post-test student satisfaction and learning surveys, the library instruction and course requirements were revised. This course's implementation formed the basis of a campus-wide effort to embed librarians within on-campus and online/hybrid courses. Conclusions, discussion and areas for future research are included.     

A Comparative Framing Analysis of Embedded and Behind-the-Lines Reporting on the 2003 Iraq War

This study sought to develop a typology of communication challenges perceived by frontline employees during the implementation of organizational change. A sample of midlevel managers (N = 166) self-reported 486 challenges they perceived encountering while implementing a new customer service program at a national textbook retailer. These perceived impediments were inductively analyzed into a five-tiered typology including (a) resistance from external stakeholders, (b) a lack of resources and decision-making authority, (c) personal management issues, (d) competing changes, and (e) staff resistance.
