Interruptions in the workplace: A case study to reduce their effects

Collaboration is an important aspect for virtually all workplace environments. Workplaces often encourage and foster collaboration in a variety of ways with the purpose to collectively focus the group's attention on a specific problem and solve it as quickly and as efficiently as possible. While collaboration is generally viewed as a positive aspect of the workplace, the negative aspect—interruption—cannot be ignored. Interruptions are an important research area of human-computer interaction and with the growth of pervasive or ubiquitous computing on the rise, the number of interruptions we experience on a daily basis is also growing. It is for these reasons that interruption is and will continue to be a key issue in workplaces.This report presents the findings of a qualitative research project which explored interruptions in a mid-size software development company based in Ontario, Canada. The purpose of this research was to identify the types of interruptions (both on- and off-task) that occur during typical office software related activities, explore the contextual characteristics surrounding these interruptions, and identify methodologies that could be used to reduce the cost of interruptions and increase employee effectiveness and satisfaction.

本文探讨了员工职业压力在职业生涯管理对员工离职意愿的影响关系中的中介作用。研究结果表明,职业生涯管理(ICM和OCM)对员工离职意愿的呈现有显著的负相关关系;员工职业压力在职业生涯管理对员工离职意愿间关系起到部分中介作用。     

珠江三角洲民营企业职工体育发展现状及对策研究

采用文献资料、实地访谈、问卷调查、数理统计等方法,对珠江三角洲民营企业职工体育发展现状 及对策进行综合研究。结果表明,随着社会经济转型的不断深入,职工表现出较高的参与体育锻炼的愿望 ,但总体还受到工作时间、场地设施、生活环境、体育态度、运动技能及管理体制等诸多因素影响。因此 要引起社会重视,有关部门必须要加强珠江三角洲民营企业大众体育宣传力度,促进职工积极参与体育锻 炼。

Manufacturing the (In)visible: Power to Communicate,Power to Silence

The paper develops the argument of two faces of censorship as a form of symbolic violence over individuals directed either inward or outward. In both instances, the resistance to disclosure and an effort to keep things hidden are normally complemented by strategic control over the process of making things visible. Silence is usually considered a sign of censorship, but in reality it can indicate not only the suppression of, but also a resistance to, communication. Despite the changes leading toward the “structural censorship” in modern complex societies, the essential questions remain: What are the strategies to confront the (hidden) forces of censorship, and how successful can they be?

沉默权制度是保障人权的一项重要司法制度,目前在许多国家得到普遍确立。随着我国签署加入了联合国《公民权利和政治权利国际公约》,由此引发了有关沉默权的争论,而且讨论日趋激烈。在沸沸扬扬中,赞成者有之,反对者有之,那么到底什么是沉默权?我国现行法律有没有规定沉默权?我国要不要引入沉默权?这些问题都急需解决。本文从沉默权制度的概念、沉默权制度在中国面临的情况、沉默权的限制及构建等几个方面展开论述,力图通过本文来表达一种关注。

我院图书馆本科学历人员偏少、女性比例大、专业人才缺乏,在新形势下图书馆员应该具备良好的思想政治和职业道德修养、专业知识、外语知识、良好的沟通能力和计算机、网络等现代化技术,才能满足图书馆现代化建设发展和管理的需要。
