Parents with intellectual disabilities seeking professional parenting support: The role of working alliance,stress and informal support

Delaying or refraining from seeking advice and support in difficult parenting situations is identified as an important risk factor for child abuse and neglect. This study tested whether the extent of delays in support seeking is associated with working alliance for parents with mild intellectual disabilities (MID) and whether the importance of working alliance may depend on parenting stress and availability of informal support. Delays in support seeking were measured as parental latency (time waited) to approach the support worker. This latency was assessed in the intended response to hypothetical situations (vignettes) and in the reported behavioral response to real life difficult parenting situations from the preceding weeks. Multiple regression analyses were conducted for testing main and interaction effects of predictors on latency for support seeking. Better quality of the working alliance was associated with shorter intended latency to seek support for parents with MID, if parents had little access to informal support. Higher parenting stress predicted a shorter latency for intended support seeking. Parental support seeking intentions were positively associated with support seeking behavior. A good quality of the working alliance might be important to connect needs of parents with MID to resources that professional support can offer, in particular for the most vulnerable parents. Parental reluctance to seek professional support may be the result of a combination of risk and protective factors and is not always a sign of poor working alliance. Implications for risk assessment and support practice are discussed.     

三网融合背景下的新媒体突发事件报道简

近年来,全球性突发事件时有发生,针对突发新闻事件的快速报道成为各国媒体的竞争焦点,在新媒体环境下都呈现出崭新的报道样式。新媒体环境下,传统媒体在突发事件报道中能够秉持优势,但也多少表现出一些力不从心,与此同时,新媒体正以其如火如荼的发展态势蔓延到各个领域,它在逐步与传统媒体相互融合、联合报道。这一切都依托于三网融合这一技术的不断发展。手机电视等多种新型媒体展现了其继报纸、广播、电视、五联网之后作为“第五媒体”的优势,这使得手机媒体在应对突发事件时,有着不同于传统媒体的特征。同时,以网络和移动技术为代表的新媒体发展迅速,改变着传统的国际传播格局,并和传统媒体相互融合,使得国际新闻传播主体呈现多元化的态势。面对三网融合时代下新媒体多渠道的信息集合趋势,国内国际媒体如何利用机遇来迎接挑战,在增强新闻传播力度的同时,又能避免新闻盲点的产生,成为了此次论文研究的重点。     

GAJA： 3D CAD methodology for developing a parametric system for the automatic （re）modeling of the cutting components of compound washer dies

For the designing of cutting-dies is a complex and experience-based process, it is poorly supported by conventional 3D CAD software. Thus, the majority of design activities, including the (re)modeling of those cutting die-components that are directly responsible for performing shaping operations on a sheet-metal stamping part, traditionally still need to be carried-out repetitively, separately, and manually by the designer. To eliminate some of these drawbacks and upgrade the capabilities of conventional 3D CAD software, this paper proposes a new methodology for the development of a parametric system capable of automatically performing a (re)modeling process of compound washer dies’ cutting-components. The presented methodology integrates CATIA V5 built-in modules, including Part Design, Assembly Design and Knowledge Advisor, publication mechanism, and compound cutting die-design knowledge. The system developed by this methodology represents an ‘intelligent’ assembly template composed of two modules GAJA1 and GAJA2, respectively. GAJA1 is responsible for the direct input of the die-design problem regarding the shape, dimensions and material of the stamping part, its extraction in the form of geometric features, and the transferring of relevant design parameters and features to the module GAJA2. GAJA2 interprets the current values for the input parameters and automatically performs the modeling process of cutting die-components, using die-design knowledge and the company’s internal design and manufacturing standards. Experimental results show that this system significantly shortens the modeling-time for cutting the die-components, improves the modeling-quality, and enables the training of inexperienced designers.     

Clients’ Expected Number of Counseling Sessions,Treatment Effectiveness,and Termination Status: Using Empirical Evidence to Inform Session Limit Policies

Many counseling centers have session limits to accommodate the increasing number of clients who seek treatment. The current study explored clients' expectations for the number of sessions over the course of one year at a large university counseling center. In contrast to previous research that has suggested clients want ten or fewer sessions, our results suggest that over 60% of clients wanted 20 or more sessions. Moreover, clients who expected 20 or more sessions reported therapy was less effective than clients who expected less than 20 sessions. While actual number of sessions was related to expected number of sessions, termination status appeared to be related to clinical factors and not clients' expected number of sessions. Implications for clinical practice and agency session limit policies are discussed.     

Discussion of Racial Difference in Counseling: A Counselor's Perspective

Fifty-three counselors at a university counseling center and a university practicum clinic were surveyed using the Working Alliance Inventory–Short Form to examine the effect of acknowledging and discussing racial differences between counselor and client on the working alliance formed during the counseling sessions. Based on the counselor's perspective, a significant relationship between counselor-client discussion of racial difference and the working alliance was found.     

基于知识的工程图识别模型研究

对人工读图的认知过程进行了分析,总结出其自组织的特征,设计了"基于知识的工程图识别层次模型",将整个工程图识别过程分为像素、矢量图元和工程图形三个层次,层次之间相应地进行基于知识的两阶段的矢量化和识别处理,该模型为各种工程知识的使用打下了基础。
