文章在全面介绍HY-2A卫星及载荷主要技术指标的基础上对数据产品进行了评估,并分析了HY-2A在台风监测和海啸预警中的应用潜力。研究表明,HY-2A卫星的数据产品能够满足海洋应用的需要,卫星在台风和海啸的监测中可以做到准确识别,并明显提高海洋灾害预报的时效,具有巨大的应用潜力。为了充分发挥HY-2A在海洋防灾减灾中的作用,建议开发针对HY-2A遥感载荷的多源数据融合产品,提高数据的空间分辨率,形成精细网格的海洋动力环境要素数据产品,为风场、海浪、风暴潮同化模式提供可靠的数据源,有效提高海洋数值同化预报模式的精度。 相似文献

ABSTRACTIncreased school autonomy and a greater focus on achieving school effectiveness and improvement has made it essential to reconsider the role of school leaders (OECD 2009, Creating Effective Teaching and Learning Environments: First Results from TALIS. Paris: OECD Publishing). This recommends that leadership development in this rapidly changing world deserves significant consideration compared to the past. With the increasing interest entrusted to school leadership, this article reports on how school leaders are currently prepared by the higher education programmes offered in two out of three universities in Fiji. Through an extensive literature review as well as through programme documents and policy reviews, this article focuses on current educational leadership post-graduate courses offered at these Fijian universities and highlight areas of strengths as well as suggests recommendations for improvement that are in line with identified needs for effective principal preparation in a Fijian context with key connections made to the larger South Pacific region. 相似文献

This study reports the outcomes of focus group discussions reflected in presentations of concept maps relating to the implementation of inclusive education in the Pacific based on the views of 39 stakeholders from four countries (Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu). Five themes emerged, with one of the strongest being that of culture, community, and religion. This, amongst other ideas, is central to Pacific Islanders’ understandings of inclusive education implementation, and results in some tensions between western educational ideas and the local context. The implications of this paper clearly show that local culture and context must be accounted for, if inclusive education is to be successfully implemented in the region. 相似文献

The learning difficulties for new entrant chemistry students from a multi-national, regional, tertiary education institution
in the South Pacific were investigated using a purpose-designed diagnostic instrument. The instrument contained 25 items distributed
across three themes: scientific reasoning, numeracy and scientific language literacy. The research findings suggest that the
main learning difficulty facing these students is in numeracy with students able to interpret numerical data presented in
graphical form and to complete rudimentary numerical calculations, but unable to use numerical data or perform calculations
involving ratios. Targeted remedial tutoring, based on the results of this diagnostic test instrument, rather than content-driven

Community-based climate change projects in the Pacific typically seek to raise the awareness of locals about the consequences of climate change and changing weather patterns. A key concern is that such activities might be done in an ad hoc manner, with little consideration of local relevance, audience and the integration of local experiences and knowledge. Drawing on the results gleaned from an interactive focus group with 10 climate change practitioners working in the region, this exploratory study investigates why raising awareness about climate change remains crucial, and importantly, how such activities might be done in a more relevant, meaningful and empowering way at the community level in the Pacific. This commentary argues that it is essential for communities to make local sense of climate change, particularly in an ever-changing world where knowledge is continuously expanding and changing. Initial findings suggest that making local sense of and raising awareness about climate change readily comes about with due consideration of approach, audience and context. 相似文献

In this article, the authors examine the paradoxical process of interpretation in collaborative team ethnography. They use examples from their work on a collaborative team evaluation of the North Carolina A+ Schools Program. The differing perspectives and experiences of the researchers entangled their ability to form an "interpretive zone." This reflexive examination addresses conflicting epistemological assumptions, research paradigms, races, genders, class backgrounds, and research interests. The authors address three paradoxes: interpretive differences on the research team, representation of diverse voices in the research process, and the conflicting roles as evaluators and critical researchers. The multiple layers of collaboration led to greater understanding through multiple meanings but, paradoxically, greater fragmentation and uncertainty. 相似文献

This paper revisits the missing discourse of female desire [Fine, M. 1988. Sexuality, schooling and adolescent females: The missing discourse of desire. Instead of echoing previous studies that have documented how female desire is missing, this research starts from the premise that female desire is an everyday (unofficial) presence at school. Through photo-diaries and photo-elicitation, this paper attempts to materialise [Butler, J. 1993. Bodies that matter: On the discursive limits of ‘sex’. New York: Routledge] female desire to literally ‘see it’ through young women's own eyes. In articulation with feminist debates around young women's exercise of agency, it argues that in relation to female sexual desire, this may look different from what we expect. Drawing on Deleuze and Guattari [2004. Anti-oedipus: Capitalism and schizophrenia. Trans. B. Massumi. Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press], it explores how ruptures to normative female desire are constantly reterritorialised and subsequently more ‘frustrated’ than claims of easily perceptible change. The emergence of Pacific Island (PI) ethnicities in the National Rugby League (NRL) over the past 18 years is widely acknowledged. At present, participants who have PI or Maori heritage represent 38% of the NRL's senior roster plus 37% at the National Youth Competition (NYC) level. This paper will examine the complex personal and ethnic biographies, and the process through which these athletes create their identities as a minority group within the culture of professional rugby league. In particular, the theoretical concept of ethnic persistence provides a way to understand the identity formation of PI athletes currently in the NRL. Rather than being assimilated into Western culture, the cultural discourses that are inextricably linked to ethnic PI identities are crucial to understanding the experiences of footballers in the NRL. The experiences of the footballers, characterised by a lack of understanding and acknowledgement of PI traditions, suggest that national identities, rivalries and conflict that have shaped the history of these island nations are overridden in favour of common traits, experiences and heritage. 相似文献
