农村党员干部远程教育中移动学习模式的探索

在分析农村党员干部远程教育工作现状的基础上,论文根据目前工作中存在的问题及农村党员干部、农民群众的学习特点和需求,对移动学习模式在农村党员干部远程教育中的应用进行了探索,并给出了基于移动学习应用模式的教学资源建设思路。     

Competencies for port and logistics personnel: An application of regional human resource development

Human resource development for regional strategic industries is an emerging emphasis for the development of industries that have growth potential. This article identifies competencies and expertise levels needed by port and logistics industry personnel, a sector that has growth potential in Busan, South Korea. The research consisted of expert interviews to develop a competency survey. Six competency clusters and 16 sub-competencies were developed. This research was useful in the development of an educational program and suggests ways in which regional human resource development (RHRD) can be used.     

Suboptimal reliable guaranteed cost control for continuous-time systems with multi-criterion constraints

The suboptimal reliable guaranteed cost control （RGCC） with multi-criterion constraints is investigated for a class of uncertain continuous-time systems with sensor faults. A fauk model in sensors, which considers outage or partial degradation of sensors, is adopted. The influence of the disturbance on the quadratic stability of the closed-loop systems is analyzed. The reliable state-feedback controller is developed by a linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） approach, to minimize the upper bound of a quadratic cost fimction under the conditions that all the closed-loop poles be placed in a specified disk, and that the prescribed level of H∞ disturbance attenuation and the upper bound constraints of control inputs＇ magnitudes be guaranteed. Thus, with the above muki-criterion constraints, the resulting closed-loop system can provide satisfactory stability, transient property, a disturbance rejection level and minimized quadratic cost performance despite possible sensor faults.     

New academics,new higher education contexts: a critical perspective on professional development

New academics entering higher education are especially vulnerable if teaching in a post-colonial classroom is not foregrounded as an explicit part of their professional induction. Drawing on a study of a professional development programme for induction to teaching, this paper explicates how six new academics confront specific challenges of exclusion, marginalisation, and alienation at institutional, faculty, departmental and classroom levels. Framed by critical and social realist theory, the study uses photo voice methodology to elicit new academics' critical insights in the ‘learning to teach’ frame. The paper asserts new academics must engage in ways that make explicit the racial, gendered and class-based constraints experienced in various university spaces. While the relevance and legitimacy of current professional development programmes depends on their ability to be responsive and socially just, the study also questions whether programmes alone can challenge deep systemic constraints that are reproduced through current university structures and culture.     

Allocating Sample Sizes to Reduce Budget for Fixed-Effect 2×2 Heterogeneous Analysis of Variance

This article discusses the sample size requirements for the interaction, row, and column effects, respectively, by forming a linear contrast for a 2×2 factorial design for fixed-effects heterogeneous analysis of variance. The proposed method uses the Welch t test and its corresponding degrees of freedom to calculate the final sample size in a 2-step procedure. The simulation results show that the proposed sample size allocation ratio can minimize the sampling cost, while at the same time the designated power is achieved. The article concludes with a discussion to reiterate the importance of sample size planning, especially for testing the iteration effect.
