Role of Cytokines in the Pathogenesis of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

A number of factors are linked with non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD), a condition that ranges from clinically benign fatty liver to its more severe form, non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). In this study, we evaluated the role of cytokines secreted from adipose tissue in the pathogenesis and progression of NAFLD. We also compared anthropometric profile, lipid profile and insulin resistance data in 105 NAFLD patients with 77 normal subjects. These subjects showed a normal serum albumin level, prothrombin time and renal function but elevated aminotransferases. Predisposing factors were diabetes mellitus (35%), overweight (56%) and hyperlipidemia (44%). Insulin resistance (IR), determined by homeostasis model assessment (HOMA) was confirmed in 70% patients with NAFLD and 42% patients fulfilled the minimum criteria for insulin resistance syndrome (IRS). NAFLD patients showed elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and interleukin (IL)-6, while anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 level decreased and IL-10 level remain unchanged; however, TGF-β1 level elevated significantly compared to normal subjects. While insulin level and HOMA-IR both were significantly positively correlated with BMI, waist-to-hip ratio, total cholesterol, VLDL-cholesterol, triglyceride and TGF-β1; glucose, IL-6 and TNF-α levels were significantly positively correlated with HOMA-IR only. In conclusion, pro-inflammatory cytokines play an important link between metabolic and liver disorders in the fat accumulation, and thereby cause IR, inflammation and liver fibrosis.     

基于ε支配的MOGA在0／1背包问题中的应用

多目标遗传算法NSGA—Ⅱ是解决0／1背包问题^[1]的有效算法,但是它还存在一定的缺陷,当0／1背包问题的规模较大时,这种方法很难收敛到Pareto最优边界,因此解的分布性不是很好,解集也很难收敛。针对此问题,提出基于ε支配的MOGA来求解0／1背包问题,通过实验验证该算法在求解分布性上优于NSGA-Ⅱ。     

基于VB及组态王的水箱液位定值控制

分析了单容水箱的特性,针对单容水箱的特性设计了一种水箱液位定值控制方法。利用VB以及组态王作为软件平台实现了对单容水箱液位的定值控制。实验结果表明,该种控制方法具有一定的抗干扰能力以及鲁棒性。实验结果对工业现场具有一定的参考意义。     

地址映射技术在IPv6网络中的应用

在IPv4网络向IPv6网络过渡时期,NAT—PT技术是实现两者之间通信的关键技术。但是随着IPv6的不断发展,对NAT-PT翻译网关地址转换技术也提出了更高的要求。地址映射表查找算法是NAT-PT技术的决定性因素,通过伪C代码来实现地址映射表的建立、搜索、修改、删除,此方法可以成功地将NAT—PT技术应用于IPv6网络中。     

新一代网络差异设备盲区消除的安全检测模块设计

提出了一种针对IPv6网络设备的安全检测模块设计方法。针对IPv6设备中的差异连接申请、差异化对象转接中的有效保存、不一致异常数据包的有效采集3个IPv6设备特有的关键问题,设计了差异数据v接收线程域、转发对象域以及海量文件缓冲区3项模块新功能,很好地解决了IPv6网络设备的安全检测难题。实验结果说明,该模型能够快速、准确检测出IPv6网络模块设备终端的异常数据,采集到的异常数据包成功率从现有的67%提高到了88%,有着较好的应用性。     

Safe Discussions Rather Than First Hand Encounters: Adolescents Examine Racism Through One Historical Fiction Text

summary This article presents a case study class response to Mildred Taylors now classic and widely read novel, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. Through data collected during one school year, the ways urban, adolescent students use their contemporary lenses to interpret the literary theme of confronting, overcoming and challenging racism are discussed. The participants responses are organized into four reader response categories that explicate the complex and interactive interpretations developed by the children while reading the novel. In addition to providing insights about the participants textual understanding, pedagogical findings indicate that the book can also be used to explore the nature of racism while creating a safe space to confront and more deeply understand racisms impact on the past as well as the students current reality.
