Strategic transfer: A tool for academic problem solving

Within the context of classroom learning, strategic transfer can be viewed as a tool for academic problem solving. Strategic transfer is defined as the spontaneous access and retrieval (remembering) of previously learned formal procedures for the successful solution of a problem. The transfer-appropriate processing encoding model (Morris, Bransford, and Franks, 1977), and the transfer-appropriate procedures retrieval model (Roediger, Weldon, and Challis, 1989) are reviewed. An integration of the two models is proposed through the development of a training-for-transfer paradigm (Phye, 1990). By integrating encoding and retrieval processing in a single transfer paradigm the issue of accessing prior knowledge (Bransford, 1990) that is also referred to as the inert knowledge problem (Whitehead, 1929) can directly be addressed.     

论认知语境与英语多媒体教学的整合与同构

自上世纪末,我国语言学界掀起了研究认知语言学热潮,尤其是对认知语境与关联理论在对语言教学的指导方面推崇备致,而多媒体在语言教学中的作用却受到了某些人士的质疑。本文的目的在于揭示认知语境和关联理论在指导教学中的局限性,并通过多媒体与传统教学手段进行比照,说明多媒体教学比传统教学更能有效地解决认知语境与关联理论的这一局限性。     

认知语境下动态介词to和from的解析

介词虽是虚词,在句子中不作任何独立成分,但有些介词具有动态意义,可表现出动作的过程、趋向等。以to和from两个方向性运动介词为例,运用语用学和认知语言学有关理论成果——认知语境,对其进行阐释。

Understanding autonomous peer feedback practices among postgraduate students: a case study in a Chinese university

Academic writing is a social practice in which the writer interacts with both texts and people and uses the interaction as a learning resource. While academic interaction in the classroom setting has been extensively investigated, student interaction that takes place without teacher supervision remains largely unexplored. Since autonomy is a key component of academic interaction, autonomous peer feedback practices among postgraduate students may be of some interest. This paper reports on an exploratory case study of peer feedback among a small group of postgraduate students in a master’s programme in translation studies in a prestigious Chinese university. The findings offer insights into the role of peer feedback in advancing academic literacy and forming scholarly communities in an emerging discipline. The case study provides an opening into the research area of autonomous peer feedback and suggests avenues for further, more substantial research.     

汉英中介语拙涩现象分析

本文从汉英两种语言的语言意识差异、句法取向差异以及交际表述习惯差异等方面入手,引用大量语言材料,分析了汉英中介语的一些拙涩现象,以期为中国英语学习者与教学者提供参考。     

谈英语及对外汉语教学中的负迁移现象

无论是在以英语还是以汉语作为第二语言的学习过程中，都会不同程度地存在着第一语言对第二语言的影响，本文着重探讨其中的负面影响，即负迁移。负迁移的形成是由于英、汉两种语言的差异，甚至过度相似性或是由于学习者在学习过程中过度借助或照搬第一语言的知识而造成的，在此，笔者主要从英、汉两种语言及思维差异的角度，分析了实际教学中各个平面的负迁移现象，包括语义、语法结构、语用等各层面上的负迁移。根据分析结果，笔者提出具体教学中避免负迁移产生的相关对策：（1）重视第一、第二语言的对比分析；（2）以科学的态度看待语言学习过程中的语言错误现象。     

语境在语用学研究中的作用

本文以英语为例,从语言运用学的角度探讨了语境在语言运用中的作用。
