文献典藏的来源数据分析与应用

运用文献典藏的来源数据进行分析,提炼其丰富的、有价值的信息,作为图书馆动态典藏的基础数据。配合灵活的文献整序方法,将动态数据与文献实物进行科学聚类,发现其序列规则。通过来源数据在文献典藏中的具体应用,简化了文献典藏流程,探讨了来源数据的优势及其发展方向,形成文献典藏的新模式。     

CNKI视角下国内微课研究文献的定量分析

采用定量分析法,以CNKI中国内微课的研究文献为对象,从文献数量、作者、研究机构及区域分布、期刊、基金资助、研究主题等角度进行统计分析。可以看出,微课正处于发展初期,未来研究文献必将呈高速增长,目前华东地区和高校的研究占有比例很大,微课研究的核心作者群与核心期刊均尚未形成,基金资助面较小且级别较低;目前理论研究、学科教学应用、课程资源建设是主要研究领域,今后还需对微课平台系统建设、技术标准、评价指标体系等进一步加紧研究规范。     

文献整理学术传统对古籍数字化的参照价值(之三)——以“版本源流考订”为例

版本源流考订是古代文献整理的优良传统。通过对单种文献历代同书异本传承关系的考察,可以从存本中发现和推荐与祖本关系密切的善本。对古籍数字化而言,版本源流考订有助于选择精良的底本,还可将前代版本源流考订成果随同文献正文一起数字化,并进行数据加工。文章以宋代梅尧臣《宛陵集》为例,利用OWL本体描述语言完成面向专业研究人员的古籍版本源流知识库的结构设计,基于本体开发工具Protégé完成以RDF资源描述框架为基础的本体建模,利用On?toGraf插件功能将该书的版本源流以可视化的形式直观呈现出来。     

Meeting Our Customers’ Expectations: A Follow-Up Customer Satisfaction Survey After 10 Years of Free Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan Services at Texas A&M University Libraries

A customer satisfaction survey was conducted at Texas A&M University Libraries to determine how we can continue to deliver the best document delivery/interlibrary loan service possible for our customers. The results confirm our excellence in delivering this popular “Get it for me” service. The findings also enable us to make some changes in our process to further improve the service.     

Giving Patrons What They Want: An Analysis of a Thesis and Dissertation Purchase-on-Demand Project at East Carolina University

Joyner Library's Interlibrary Loan Department has been purchasing theses and dissertations that it could neither borrow from other libraries nor find freely available online to fulfill patron requests. Purchased documents are reviewed by Collection Development for possible accession after the patron has finished consulting the works. The background, interlibrary loan process, collection development process, and technical services process are discussed. Summary data and analysis are presented.     

The Client Satisfaction Survey as a Tool for Evaluating Library Fee-Based Information Services

ABSTRACT

Fee-based services deliver information to a library's non-primary clientele by providing products such as document delivery and research services, usually on a cost-recovery basis. A client satisfaction survey is one method of evaluating a fee-based information service's effectiveness in meeting its clients' needs and of learning new ways to serve customers better. To gain the most benefit and insight from the survey's results, the survey must be carefully planned and implemented. Compiling, Interpreting, and reporting the results are equally important. Finally, the staff modifies or improves services based on the survey results.

ABSTRACT

Videocassettes are difficult to obtain via PRISM ILL. Very few participating OCLC members lend videocassettes and PRISM ILL is not designed to steer borrowers to the few lenders of this type of material. A worksheet, based on responses from the forthcoming ILPD, 5th ed., is offered for use at the OCLC workstation. A strategy for best use of this worksheet is also included.
