Development of integrated precision vibration-assisted micro-engraving system

A novel precision vibration-assisted micro-engraving system was developed by the integration of fast tool servo and ultrasonic elliptical vibration system, in which the flexure hinge was designed to avoid backlash and PID control algorithm was established to guarantee specific precision. Apart from experimental validation of the performance of the system, various micro-V-grooves cutting experiments on aluminum alloy, ferrous material and hard cutting material were performed, in which Kistler force sensor was used to measure cutting force. Through experiments, it was clear that the vibration-assisted micro-engraving system can ensure good quality of micro-V-grooves and reduce cutting force by about 60% compared with traditional removal process without ultrasonic vibration.

Enabling Mg metal anodes rechargeable in conventional electrolytes by fast ionic transport interphase

Rechargeable magnesium batteries have received extensive attention as the Mg anodes possess twice the volumetric capacity of their lithium counterparts and are dendrite-free. However, Mg anodes suffer from surface passivation film in most glyme-based conventional electrolytes, leading to irreversible plating/stripping behavior of Mg. Here we report a facile and safe method to obtain a modified Mg metal anode with a Sn-based artificial layer via ion-exchange and alloying reactions. In the artificial coating layer, Mg₂Sn alloy composites offer a channel for fast ion transport and insulating MgCl₂/SnCl₂ bestows the necessary potential gradient to prevent deposition on the surface. Significant improved ion conductivity of the solid electrolyte interfaces and decreased overpotential of Mg symmetric cells in Mg(TFSI)₂/DME electrolyte are obtained. The coated Mg anodes can sustain a stable plating/stripping process over 4000 cycles at a high current density of 6 mA cm⁻². This finding provides an avenue to facilitate fast ion diffusion kinetics of Mg metal anodes in conventional electrolytes.

The benefits of ethnic activity group participation on older immigrant well-being and host country adjustment

Drawing on acculturation and social identity literatures, the present research extends on initial work on social group connectedness among older immigrants to examine in a quasi-experimental study the well-being benefits of participating in heritage culture groups. Older immigrant clients (N = 66) of six aged-care agencies in Australia were given diary booklets in which to complete a set of measures on selected days when they did or did not attend the agencies’ heritage culture group activities, over a 2-month period. Results showed that heritage group participation reduced loneliness and increased well-being. Future research should replicate and extend these findings to assist our understanding of how heritage culture group participation aids first-generation older immigrants with aging successfully in a foreign land.     

出于效益还是约束? 社会化问答社区用户持续答题意愿研究

[目的/意义]在社会化问答社区,如何留住用户,促进用户的持续答题一直是人们关注的焦点。[方法/过程]根据社会交换理论,构建社区涉入、群体规范、效益导向快速关系、约束导向快速关系、问答满意度及持续答题意愿之间的影响关系模型,通过调查问卷收集数据,利用SPSS和AMOS进行统计分析和假设检验。[结果/结论]研究结果表明,效益导向快速关系和约束导向快速关系对问答满意度、持续答题意愿都有显著的正向影响,问答满意度在“快速关系→问答满意度→持续答题意愿”路径中起部分中介作用,社区涉入和群体规范能够促进效益导向与约束导向快速关系的建立。
