加强实践教学办好广播电视新闻专业

结合我院广播电视新闻学专业实践教学，对广播电视新闻专业的实践教学模式进行了探讨，提出了其中存在的问题及解决的对策。在抓好理论教学的同时，进一步搞好实践教学，是落实人才培养目标、办好广播电视新闻学专业的关键。     

STRUCTURAL CHANGE AND JOURNALISM PRACTICE

This paper examines structural changes to Chinese news organisations in the new millennium and their impact on journalism practice, with a particular focus on the Xinhua News Agency. The paper attempts to understand the complexity of these changes and their implications for journalism, media and communications studies.     

Color,Caste and the Public Sphere

Broadcast network newsrooms are powerful gatekeepers, setting cultural standards and attitudes for America at large via the stories they tell and the images they project. In 1968, the federal Kerner Commission chastised American news media for ignoring race, and seeing through the “white man’s eyes” and speaking from “the white perspective.” Grounded in critical and cultural studies and organizational theory, this study analyzes the experiences of 23 post-Civil Rights generation black journalists working in broadcast newsrooms who continue to struggle against anti-black cultural norms and attitudes at great physical, psychological and financial cost.     

Charting Theoretical Directions for Examining African Journalism in the “Digital Era”

This essay provides a metatheoretical framework for understanding the complexities surrounding African journalism in the era of interactive digital technologies. It argues for the continued relevance of traditional theoretical paradigms, and submits that radical calls to develop new theories as well as to de-Westernise contemporary journalism studies through exclusively deploying “home-grown” concepts such as ubuntuism are not necessarily always viable. Rather, there is more to gain from appropriating traditional theories and identifying possible synergies between the “old”, predominantly Western approaches, and the “new digital phenomena”, and weaving out of that dialogue, approaches that are not radically different but are in tune with the uniqueness of African experiences. This approach, as the study argues, is particularly important given that journalism (including its appropriation of new technologies) always takes on the form and colouring of the social structure in which it operates. The study thus draws on social constructivist approaches to technology and the sociology of journalism, as well as an array of theoretical concerns from African journalism scholarship to offer a possible direction for a conceptual framework that can help us to capture the complex imbrications between new digital technologies and journalism practice in Africa.     

“Roy's Turkish Delight”: Football,Nationalism and the Representation of Turkey in the British Sports Media

ABSTRACT

A large body of literature in representational studies reflects a deep professional concern over the negative effect of the role of the media in representing significant Others. Western media's coverage of an international event, in this case, a football competition, raises some ethical questions about the choice of specific lexical items and textual contents. Drawing on the work of Stuart Hall's representation theory, this article examines how Turkey, a nation located on the semi-periphery of Europe, is represented in Western media outlets. By looking at the role that sections of the British sports press plays in their construction of the Turkish national identity, I evaluate the Euro 2016 and Euro 2004 reporting of the UEFA European Championship qualifying matches between Turkey and England. I apply a combination of lexical and narrative analysis, and I question the way that Turkey is represented in the British sport texts. The style and language used in the presentation of football games reveals that British media outlets are prone to present England's politically and economically powerful position, and its cultural superiority over Turkey. Findings also suggest that the discourse of the “West and the Rest” is alive in the modern world.

试论舆论监督法制化

随着我国民主与法制建设步伐的加快,舆论监督在我国政治经济社会生活中的作用越来越显著。但是,新闻官司也随之大量出现,这反映出我国新闻立法的必要性和紧迫性。我国的舆论监督在法律界限方面有一些不明确的地方,舆论监督法制化有一些难点。加强新闻法制建设,重点应放在如何保护正常的舆论监督和防止滥用舆论监督上,在这二者之间建立适度的平衡,应作为我国舆论监督在法制化道路上迈出的关键一步。     

Origin and decline of the first university radio web in France

Résonances was the first university radio web in France. It was founded at the University of Limoges, in 2010. This article is about the origin and decline of this transmedia project. Two strategies are here unfolded: historical the first one, ranging from the conception of the idea, the vicissitudes experienced by the team for implementing the radio and keeping it alive; the second one, a short semiotical approach. Following the principle according to which is sometimes necessary to move to a higher level of analysis to understand the lower one, the thesis of this article is that the suppression of Résonances cannot be understood either historically or semiotically without adding a higher level of analysis.     

大数据时代新闻传播人才培养模式探讨

文章在简述大数据的定义与特点之后,阐述了大数据时代对新闻生产方式带来的变革,然后归纳出大数据时代对新闻传播人才需求的三种类型,即应用型人才、＂∏＂型复合人才和DT人才。文章最后根据我国目前高校新闻传播人才培养的现状,从创新课程、实训环境、教学资源、教学方法四方面提出了在大数据时代新闻传播人才培养的教学体系创新模型,结合国外大学的案例分析重点强调了课程创新。     

从“公共新闻”到“公民新闻”——近十年国内公共新闻理论研究的梳理与思考

公共新闻概念最初从美国引进,自2004年开始受到我国新闻学界的持续关注。进入21世纪后,有关公共新闻的研究逐渐被衍生而来的公民新闻所取代。从公共新闻的内涵出发,系统梳理其产生发展的内在条理,介绍国内近十年内对公共新闻理论研究的成果,归纳当前该领域研究中的主要分歧和亟需廓清的问题,并作出相应的思考。
