图书馆员刻板印象视角下的图书馆事业边缘化分析

[目的/意义]根据图书馆员刻板印象的研究结论,对当今图书馆事业边缘化相关问题进行深入分析.[方法/过程]综合图书馆员刻板印象系列研究的成果,对与当今图书馆事业边缘化相关的4个议题--图书馆学理论和教育与实践相脱节、尴尬的图书馆学学科地位、图书馆员自我边缘化、图书馆学学生职业背离进行分析.[结果/结论]研究表明:①创造机会让学生深入参与实践,加强研究理论和教育对图书馆实践的专业化改造,可以解决图书馆学与实践脱节的问题;②专业化职业价值的展示与传递,是提升学科专业地位的潜在路径;③恢复图书馆学专业在实践中的话语权,重拾职业的专业自信,是解决图书馆员自我边缘化问题的最根本途径;④取消本科教育与提升未来职业者的专业认同感,是解决职业背离现象的可行方案.总之,解决图书馆事业边缘化诸多问题的根本途径是重塑对职业专业化的信仰.     

Addressing the Sociopolitical Realities of Teaching through Standards-Based Reform to Post-Licensure Master’s Degree Programs

ABSTRACT

Physical education teacher education programs have a responsibility to prepare preservice teachers in the technical aspects of teaching while also preparing them for the sociopolitical realities of teaching a marginalized subject. There is also a need for inservice teachers to engage in continuing professional development related to socialization and school sociopolitics to build upon lessons learned during initial teacher education. In the United States, one such professional development opportunity is reflected in master’s degree programs. These programs are typically guided by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education advanced standards for physical education teacher education. However, these standards do not currently have any reference to socialization or sociopolitical learning. The purpose of this article is to propose that an additional standard focusing on sociopolitical skills and teacher socialization be added to the National Association for Sport and Physical Education advanced standards for U.S.-based post-licensure master’s degree programs.

Why is the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning such a hard sell?

Advocates have difficulty convincing colleagues Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is a worthwhile use of time and resources. This article highlights problems impeding SoTL. First, scholarship of teaching gets used as a synonym for other activities. Second, Boyer’s definition was conceptually confused. Third, SoTL is difficult to operationalize. Fourth, much discourse concerning SoTL is anti‐intellectual and located in a narrow neoliberalism. Fifth, there is uncritical over‐reliance on peer review as the mechanism for measuring scholarship. Each impediment makes SoTL a hard sell – particularly in research‐intensive universities. Taken together, they constitute a formidable problem for SoTL advocates and contain incendiary implications for promotion candidates and committees.

Mexican American Male Masquerades in the Institution as Bully

This Black and Chicana Feminist case study challenges national discourse surrounding school bullying as individualistic, student-centered. We explore the warrior lens of Mexican/Mexican-American males. While masquerading institutional compliance, they simultaneously unmask policies, practices as the means to control mind/bodies/spirit. This research seeks to uncover and more deeply understand lived realities at intersections of race, class, and gender while highlighting these young men’s agency to physically and psychologically resist that which seeks to circumscribe their educational and social outcomes. Within an elusive and subversive rasquachismo resourcefulness, they adhere to expectations while masquerading compliance to create spaces of resistance and survival within the institution as bully.     

Cholo to ‘Me’: From Peripherality to Practicing Student Success for a Chicano Former Gang Member

For many situationally marginalized Mexican-descent students today, hopelessness is fueled by a bleak life situation that is reflected in their school performance. Success in school remains elusive because they are not or have not had the opportunity to become members of a community that contributes to their sense of agency, possibility and hope in life or educational pursuits. From a sociocultural perspective of learning and developing a “way of being” and identity through this learning, the purpose of this study was to see how one socially, educationally, and socioeconomically marginalized, Mexican-descent student struggled, learned and “became” another way of being in his first year of college mediated through a retention and support program.

中国小说由小道向主流的地位升迁,得益于晚清精英知识分子启蒙话语的植人。与此同时,一种潜在地受西方影响的文学“游戏说”消然产生。晚清文学游戏说,是一种既不同于新小说家之“载道”功利,又有别于传统中国小说之消遣娱乐的具有现代美学意识的文学观,它产生于晚清一批与“科名”失之交臂,或有意无意间沦为社会边缘的知识分子中。论文以《游戏世界》、《小说林》杂志及王国维、周氏兄弟为个案,对这个文学思潮的产生与状况进行描述。     

硬笔书法艺术边缘化的阐释

硬笔书法作为一种艺术门类而存在，但它却处于非常尴尬的“边缘化”境地。上世纪90年代我国经济体制的转型，西方现代文化思潮的渗透与影响以及商品经济和市场经济条件下人们价值观念的改变是产生这一状况的主要原因。硬笔书法边缘化的现状主要有以下几个方面：硬笔书法本身存在弱点；硬笔书法教学在各级学校中处于弱势地位；硬笔书法创作上过多受毛笔书法的影响；对作品外在美追求的偏颇以及硬笔书法理论研究不够系统和专业。     

《女勇士》的女性主义解读

在后殖民主义女性批评的语境中，解读美籍华裔女作家汤亭亭在其作品《女勇士》中对华裔女性文化身份的归属与建构问题的思考，认为华裔女性被以男性、白人为中心的主流社会双重边缘化。对于男权制的压抑，作者试图通过女性的经济独立和“双性同体”等寻求突破，但终归于失败；对于美国白人主流社会的压抑，通过文化融合，作者已经寻找到了突破之路。
