Critically reflexive dialogue and praxis: Academic/practitioner reflections throughout a formative evaluation of Circles® USA

Reflections about the use of critically reflexive praxis by academic/practitioners are offered based on a case study of a formative evaluation of Circles^® USA, a nonprofit organization coordinating initiatives across the U.S. working to move families out of poverty. Critically reflexive praxis is theorized as featuring several themes including acknowledging different levels of context, critical dialogue with collaborators, engaging cultural difference and intersectionalities, problematizing power relations and relationships among researchers and collaborators, and occurring throughout the research project. Examples of critical dialogic reflexivity and navigating common tensions that emerge throughout such community engagement projects are detailed during three phases: planning and design; fieldwork and interviews; and outcomes, applications, and implications.     

Students’ experiences of supervision in academic and industry settings: results of an Australian study

The joint supervision of Research Higher Degree (RHD) students by an industry and university supervisor is likely to increase in forthcoming years with a rise in the number of university–industry collaborations. Research students may become involved in these collaborative arrangements for a variety of reasons and may launch into their RHD without considering how they will serve two masters, and how this complex relationship will affect their RHD experience. Moreover, little research has been conducted to assess the impact of these arrangements on current RHD students’ experiences. The experiences of students with academic and industry supervisors were, therefore, explored in a survey of confirmed RHD students at an Australian research‐intensive university. This paper investigates whether RHD students conducting research in traditional academic settings have a different experience to students working on industry‐related projects in industry settings, specifically in regards to supervision and institutional access and engagement.     

后磨牙垂直性纵折裂的治疗和修复

目的探讨后磨牙垂直性纵折治疗和修复的疗效。方法48例垂直性纵折牙采用环形钢丝结扎、复位,带环冠固定,经完善的根管治疗后,金属全冠修复。结果48例垂直性纵折后牙修复有效39例,失败9例,总有效率81.25%。结论后牙垂直性纵折,经良好的复位,固定,经完善的根管治疗后全冠修复是一种行之有效的方法。     

地下金属管线探测传感器的改良和灵敏度的优化

以地下金属管线探测仪为背景,基于感应式磁传感器设计原理,通过对传感器线圈灵敏度进行深入分析,采用非晶态合金磁芯对现有的传感器线圈进行改进并实际设计了一款磁传感器线圈,理论计算了基于非晶态合金磁芯线圈的灵敏度,通过实验验证了新设计的磁传感器线圈达到灵敏度最优。     

Insider–outsider perspective: revisiting the conceptual framework of research methodology in language teacher education

The present paper discusses three types of research perspective on the insider–outsider continuum: outsider research, (insider's) outsider research, and insider research. It examines the essential features of the insider–outsider distinction with reference to categories such as researcher, students, classroom context, contribution, control of condition, quality criteria, disclosure of information, and example of research. The paper concludes that the insider–outsider perspective can serve as a means of building a strong theoretical base in language teaching research that will help language teacher practitioner–researchers to situate their work within a wide variety of research types.     

Yer Doin’ it Wrong: How NOT to Interact with Vendors,Publishers, or Librarians

Three librarians who have extensive experience working in libraries or for publishers, vendors, or consortia presented an informal discussion on librarian–vendor relationships. The audience was encouraged to participate. Problems were articulated; speakers and audience members contributed suggestions for better approaches or behaviors when handling difficult situations.     

城市表层土壤重金属污染分析

通过某城市土壤地质环境采集的319个取样点,分析所得到的砷(As)、镍(Ni)、铅(Pb)、汞(Hg)、铜(cu)、锌(Zn)、铬(Cr)、镉(Cd)等在城市土壤中主要重金属元素的浓度,与实际相结合,利用样点的数据,借助Matlab数学软件中mesh函数绘制出三维模型,一个取样地样分区图,八个八种重金属元素浓度分布图,九个俯视图,对问题所做工作进行评价,总结优缺点,对城市环境的演变模式研究给出展望。     

What do families of the ‘professional and managerial’ class educate their children for? The links between happiness and autonomy

Based on a qualitative study involving 124 professional and managerial class families in Catalonia (Spain), this paper describes the aims and objectives these families have for the education of their children. During the fieldwork, when asked what they were aiming for in the education of their children, almost all of the parents replied ‘for them to be happy’. But what kind of happiness are they talking about? What kind of education might lead to happiness? Drawing principally on the work of Kellerhals and Montandon and their ‘contractual model of education’ and Bauman’s concepts of ‘secondary security’ and ‘homo eligens’, although also taking into account the related contributions of Lareau, Vincent and Ball, Stefansen and Aarseth, and Kusserow, the paper aims to demonstrate the strong connection these families make between happiness and ‘absolute’ autonomy, understood as two sides of the same coin and seen, by the participants, as the guiding principle that should shape the way they bring their children up.

铪金属有良好的抗腐蚀性能,不易受一般酸碱水溶液的侵蚀,可作为高级食品的金属罐包装材料当前研究没能有效地从电化学测试的角度定量掌握铪金属在包装中的配比和对磷酸二酯菌的抑制性能的关系,导致了原材料浪费,包装材料对磷酸二酯菌的抗菌效果不好。研究铪金属罐包装材料对磷酸二酯菌抑制电化学分析,通过电化学测试方法分析铪金属包装产品对菌落的抑制性能和腐蚀性能的关系,研究极化电阻随测试溶液体积的变化,得出饮料实罐对磷酸二酯菌抑制的线性极化曲线,分析包装材料孔尺寸调控对磷酸二酯菌抑制和吸附性能的影响和关系,对铪金属罐包装材料的设计和配比具有改良作用。
