Biomechanical analysis of circles on pommel horse

The aim of this study was to analyse the principal mechanics of circles. Seventeen university male gymnasts performed circles on an instrumented pommel horse model that enabled the pommel reaction forces to be recorded at 1000 Hz with two force plates. The circles were also videotaped using two digital video cameras operating at 60 frames per second. During circles, the vertical component of the reaction forces peaked in the double-hand support phases. Changes in the velocity of the centre of mass corresponded to the change in the tangential components of horizontal reaction forces. The velocity of the centre of mass had its peaks in the single-hand support phases and its local minimums in the double-hand support phases. The velocity of the ankles and that of the centre of mass of the head and trunk were minimal in the single-hand support phases and were maximal in the double-hand support phases. These results suggest that the circles were composed of vertical movements and two kinds of rotations: rotation of the centre of mass and rotation of the body itself about the centre of mass. These two kinds of rotations, which influence the legs' rotational velocity, are phase dependent. To further our understanding of circles, research on circles in different orientations on the pommel horse will be beneficial.     

An Alternative Professional Development Program: Lessons Learned

Abstract. This article describes how a group of small liberal arts college faculty embraced the opportunity to create a faculty learning circle as an alternative professional development program. We provide a review of the program, discuss the lessons learned, and offer recommendations for future efforts in developing a similar faculty development program. Analysis of participant responses to the learning circle indicated that the experience met all their intended objectives. Faculty learning circles contribute to the participants' professional development and could be incorporated into any college campus.     

University-School Connection: A Reading Circle for Teachers

Educators are encouraged to integrate technology into their classrooms because today's student is exposed to all sorts of digital devices in their daily life. Classroom blogging is an excellent way to use the internet for more than just research. Blogging capitalizes on student interest in the internet. When done properly, a blog can serve as an online portfolio to showcase student work. Blogging can give the “silent student” a voice by allowing them the opportunity to write on topics of interest. Finally, blogging provides immediate, “click-to-publish” results. Student work is available immediately for peers to review or for others on the world wide web to comment and post feedback. All of these factors can be motivating for students to learn.

中国官场“潜规则”的社会心理考量

中国有着悠久的官僚政治传统,消极的官场文化以"潜规则"的形式仍然存在,具体表现为"一人得道,鸡犬升天"、"权力就是真理"和"报喜不报忧"三种心理状态。官场"潜规则"的整治,必须破除不正当的关系网,不断加强对官员的思想教育和对机关行政行为的监督与制约,用廉政文化引领官场文化。     

中国人工智能产业科技创新能力测度及趋势演进

基于2009—2018年省域面板数据,运用G1-CRITIC组合赋权方法测度中国三大经济圈人工智能产业科技创新能力,并采用Kernel密度估计、空间Markov链分析方法从时空维度考察三大经济圈人工智能产业科技创新能力分布动态和长期演进趋势。研究发现：(1)三大经济圈人工智能产业科技创新能力呈上升态势,但其梯度特征明显,长三角经济圈人工智能产业科技创新能力处于绝对领先地位,泛珠三角与环渤海经济圈处于较低水平;(2)三大经济圈人工智能产业科技创新能力“极化效应”加剧,长三角、泛珠三角及环渤海经济圈均存在多极分化趋势,且呈现明显层级结构,空间集聚效应显著;(3)由于经济圈内部省份之间的空间交互影响和正向溢出效应,人工智能产业科技创新能力的“俱乐部趋同”现象和“马太效应”有所缓解,且趋同过程不独立,空间溢出效应的异质性持续存在。     

沿海三大经济圈产业结构现状与协同发展初探

 长三角、珠三角和环渤海三大经济圈是我国经济和科技最发达、产业结构最成熟、经济扩散能力最强大的区域,对我国其他区域的科技经济发展有巨大的带动和促进效应。通过对沿海三大经济圈制造业产业结构的历史分析和对比研究,本文讨论了三大经济圈产业结构布局中的特点与主要问题,并提出三大经济圈产业协同发展的基本思路。
