The Hong Kong Behaviour Checklist for Primary Students: Developing a brief dyslexia screening measure

The authors report on the development of a brief dyslexia screening measure based on revising the 65-item Hong Kong Behaviour Checklist of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing. Teachers’ ratings of 1063 primary students aged 6–14 years on the behaviour checklist provided data for its psychometric evaluation using traditional measurement and Rasch measurement model analyses. Rasch scaling suggested that the revised 36-item checklist could be regarded as a unidimensional scale that assesses global dyslexic dysfunction, and receiver operating characteristics analysis suggested that a score of 18 could be an optimal cut-off score when it is used as a dyslexia screening measure. The validity of this revised checklist was supported by its substantial and significant correlations with external measures of literacy and cognitive skills. Implications of the findings for the use of adaptive testing to provide an effective procedure for screening are discussed.

香港回归祖国怀抱后,特区政府逐步摆脱了殖民教育的困扰,国民教育成功转型,港人的国民身份认同逐步提高,这都得益于特区政府有效实施的国民教育策略.针对当前我国大陆地区大德育格局下国民教育面临的困境,应积极借鉴香港特区政府实施国民教育的成功经验,以政府为主导,进行顶层设计,并注重教育的衔接性,通过教材、课堂、生活、情感等潜移默化的多元渗透方式,重点培养学生对他人、家庭、社会、国家的责任感与自愿精神,让国民教育从形式化的"浮城""扎根"于学生的心田,学生的民族意识、民族精神与爱国情怀便会情不自禁油然而生.     

香港中学增值指标的发展与应用

增值是学生实际成绩与预期成绩的差异。香港中学增值指标是香港＂学校质素保证架构＂中学校表现的指标体系之一。香港学校增值数据系统建基于在美、英等国普遍采用的多层模型,能分别估计学校层面和学生层面的增值,反映学校特定年级整体学生学业增值情况。学校亦可通过登入系统编制各种报告,包括与全港学校、相类生源学校及同区学校的比较报告,从增值数据中了解问题,改善教与学。     

目的论对《红楼梦》对话中仿词翻译的启示

根据德国译论家威米尔的目的论,译者为了达到委托人的已定目的,针对不同的译语读者,可以采用适当的翻译策略,如诺德的纪实性翻译和工具性翻译。在《红楼梦》的翻译过程中,杨宪益意向全世界传播中华传统文化,霍克思则意为西方读者提供消遣读物。在不同翻译目的指导下,他们采取了不同的翻译策略,成功地处理了人物对话中仿词的翻译,从而产生了不同的优秀译文。     

香港高中新学制及课程设置与考试评价

香港中学及高等教育于2009年开始实行＂334＂新学制。新学制对高中课程架构与设置进行了调整,对高中考试评价及大学招生条件进行了相应的改革,并将以中学文凭考试取代现行的香港中学会考和高级程度会考。     

试论孔疏与毛传、郑笺之关系——以《小雅》为例

《毛诗正义》是一本注解《诗经》的注书,历来研究者多认为其注疏原则是＂疏不破注＂。实际上,在孔疏对毛传、郑笺的注解中,不仅是单一的因袭旧说,更多的是在前人基础上的补充和纠谬,从而完善了对《诗经》的注解。以《诗经·小雅》为例,着重分析孔疏中三个方面的创新之处。

Gratitude,gratitude intervention and subjective well‐being among Chinese school teachers in Hong Kong

This study assessed the dispositional gratitude and its relationships with orientations to happiness and burnout in a sample of 96 Chinese school teachers in Hong Kong and investigated the effectiveness of an eight‐week gratitude intervention programme using a pre‐test/post‐test design with outcome measures of subjective well‐being in the same sample of teachers. The results indicated that the dispositional gratitude of teachers correlated substantially and positively with a meaningful life orientation to happiness and with personal accomplishment, and correlated substantially and negatively with the two negative components of burnout: emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation. The effects of the gratitude intervention were evident in the increase in scores on satisfaction with life and on positive affect, especially for teachers in the low‐gratitude group. Implications of the findings on the relationships between gratitude and burnout and the effectiveness of gratitude intervention for teachers of different levels of dispositional gratitude are discussed.
