For decades, students’ sense of belonging has been conceptualized through colonial perspectives, assuming students are to assimilate to educational institutions in order to belong. To challenge these perspectives, we race-reimaged belongingness factors in an investigation of Indigenous students (n = 887) from 156 U.S. community colleges in a secondary dataset. We first used measurement invariance testing to examine how Indigenous students interpret belongingness items differently from their non-Indigenous counterparts. Second, we used multilevel modeling to assess the role of Native-specific sense of belonging, operationalized through Indigenous ways of knowing and being, on GPA and goal pursuits. Our findings suggest that both traditional conceptualizations of belongingness factors (i.e., student relationships to teachers and peers) and Native-specific constructions of belongingness factors via relationships to community, family, and cultural identity were salient. Native-specific factors were more consistently associated with Indigenous students’ outcomes. Implications for best practices to foster belongingness and future directions for race-reimaging research will be discussed.  相似文献

竞走和长跑项目是我国田径的优势项目,也是在奥运会上为中国田径获得金牌和奖牌数最多的项目。但是,随着世界田径的快速发展,尤其是非洲女子中长跑的飞速赶超,以及竞走项目技术的不确定性,都对我国田径优势项目在北京奥运会上的突破构成了直接的影响。我们通过文献资料法、数理统计法和逻辑推理法对近两年世界和我国竞走、长跑项目年度和比赛最好成绩的研究,深入分析了我国田径优势项目和世界水平之间的实力态势。通过研究,我们发现,我国女子中长跑项目成绩有下滑的趋势,与非洲女子中长跑相比已无优势可言。男子中长跑与世界水平相比则相对落后。竞走项目,尤其是男子项目近几年则有较快的提高和发展,已经具备了在奥运会上与世界强手一争高低的实力。也成为在北京奥运会上最有潜力夺金的项目。但是,竞走技术的不稳定性,也是制约其快速发展的瓶颈。我国田径项目要在北京奥运会上实现突破,就必须发挥举国体制的优势,找准突破口,提高训练的科技含量。  相似文献

Intercultural dialogue is a process central to creating a just social world. Despite this, people are often prejudiced against it. In order to better understand the nature of this antagonism, the present research investigated the role of Social Dominance Orientation as one potential source of resistance. Across three studies, the direct and mediated impact of SDO on both self-reported and behaviorally-indicated dialogic engagement was assessed. Results provide evidence that increasing levels of SDO encourage ideological beliefs and social evaluations that, in turn, prejudice participants against dialogue with an African-American woman. The significance of these results is discussed, along with suggestions for future research.  相似文献

This study examines the study-abroad experiences of pre-service teacher candidates at the Faculty of Education, York University, using transformative learning theory. Disorienting experiences are a crucial first step for perspective transformation; students reported facing racial dynamics, “outsider” status, risk-taking behavior and power relations. Students’ utilized a variety of reflection opportunities; however, critical self-reflection imperative for transformation requires greater awareness of one’s frame of reference. Future studies need to examine how students’ specificities shape the realization of study-abroad goals for pre-service teachers and their ability to develop global consciousness and to work towards an equitable and just society.  相似文献

龙舟竞渡习俗作为中华民族一个独具特色的文化现象,其影响之大,分布之广,持续之久,凝聚力之强,在中国民俗史上占有十分重要的地位。千百年来,中华民族对龙舟竞渡习俗有着共同的神灵信仰、审美情趣和民族文化认同。它所反映出的团结协作精神、拼搏争先精神正是当今中华民族所应该弘扬与培育的一种民族精神。我们认为深入开掘龙舟竞渡习俗中所蕴含的丰富的文化内涵,唤醒中华民族的“文化自觉”,提升中华民族的集体意识,增强民族凝聚力和自信心,对于弘扬与培育民族精神有着十分重要的现实意义。  相似文献

This paper explores the process of learning to become a social justice teacher, drawing in particular on Bakhtin’s notions of dialogue in order to theorize pre-service teachers’ identity negotiations. Interpretations of learning and identity are based on the content of pre-service teachers’ narratives about community-based learning. Supported by theoretically-sensitive ways of conceptualizing identity and social justice, the author develops an understanding of the ways pre-service teachers shape their identities through participating in community events. Implications for teacher education, in terms of the design and pedagogic practices, are presented with the intent of enabling the realization of social justice teacher education.  相似文献

运用三维录像解析法、数理统计法、对比分析法等方法对我国优秀女子20km竞走选手后半程竞走技术进行研究,以田径理论和生物力学知识为基础,对所得数据与世界优秀选手对比分析。结果得出:我国选手在身体重心上下位移、蹬伸角度及肩髋扭转角等参数方面,与世界优秀水平相比,均存在显著性差异。蹬伸用力效果差是造成这种技术表现的致因所在。  相似文献

人们的运动不是一个静态的过程,而是一个连续的不可分割的动态过程,所以我们在进行技术动作研究就应从整体上去进行。本文基于这一角度考虑,通过文献资料法,对比分析法和运动生物力学分析法探讨建立后蹬、摆腿与前扒着地缓冲的合理技术模式,为广大体育教师和教学和教练员、运动员的训练提供可行性参考。  相似文献
