博物馆观众研究的土壤——以二战后的英国为例

从20世纪80年代的财政责任到如今的社会责任,观众研究为英国博物馆证明自身价值、获得经费支持提供了重要依据。英国政府通过政策引导与经济杠杆,客观上推动了博物馆观众研究的发展和博物馆对“人”的关注。英国经验说明,只有当政策引导、经济杠杆、行业规范与学术研究形成合力时,博物馆观众研究才能真正得到发展、发挥效力。     

Pricing and Licensing for Museum Digital Content

Museums' rights and reproduction departments are overwhelmed by and underprepared for requests for image use in electronic media. This article will evaluate related models for pricing and fees used by non-art industries, and provide some interim guidelines for museums while they make the transition to supplying requests for electronic media.     

FOCUS ON PRACTICE: Inclusion and museums: developing inclusive practice

Recent policy on inclusion has had an impact on the development of museum galleries and related educational provision. Museums are used as learning organisations and, as such, need to consider how to create an inclusive environment. However, inclusive provision for people with learning difficulties in museums tends to be isolated and small scale, lacking the formal structure found within schools. While much can be learnt from the development and evaluation of practice in schools, there is little research or published literature that explores the inclusion of people with learning difficulties in museums. This article, by Hannah Shepherd, Exhibition Co‐ordinator at Freeman College in Sheffield, analyses an example of a specific exhibit within a gallery development. This example reflects an approach that uses guidance from the literature to create a more inclusive experience for visitors, particularly those with learning difficulties. A case is made for the use of consultation and partnership to develop inclusive museum provision.     

Anatomy in a Post-Covid-19 World: Tracing a New Trajectory

In responding to Covid-19 anatomists have succeeded in adapting their teaching to online delivery. However, long-term reliance on this mode of teaching raises the prospect that transferring the whole of the learning environment to an impersonal digital world will lead to loss of anatomy’s humanistic side. In looking to a future increasingly dependent upon digital input to teaching, a number of roadblocks are identified. These are: the peril of abandoning the ethos of anatomy; for the workload of staff and especially for female academic staff; by a lack of adequate resources; to the research nature of departments, including the quality of research; to the position of anatomy in the biomedical sciences; and from pressures to retreat from a dissection-based education. In tracing a future trajectory for anatomy, issues outlined are the inevitability of change, the need for anatomy to market itself to the world, and the opportunities presented for anatomy to view itself increasingly as a contributor to broad scholastic endeavors. Suggestions include exploring the possibilities presented by virtual anatomy museums, the use of online learning to reach those not normally in touch with anatomy teaching, and exploring the integrated courses with humanities disciplines. It is concluded that anatomy will flourish if there is a willingness to expand the traditional horizons and be prepared to integrate all that is best in the person-to-person and digital worlds.

爱国主义教育是社会主义精神文明的重要组成部分,进行爱国主义宣传教育也是博物馆的重要社会公共职能之一。通过对革命纪念博物馆特定属性的现状分析,提出对策建议,以提高和妥善发挥革命纪念博物馆的爱国主义教育功能。

科技博物馆展览资源建设:“人”比“物”更重要

一些科技博物馆关注展览、展品的建设,却忽视展览设计团队的建设。在调研中发现:展览质量与水平的高低,更多地取决于博物馆设计团队的能力与水平。根据实践体会、案例分析、专家见解和对展览设计工作内容的分析,证明提升展览的质量和水平应从提升博物馆设计团队的能力入手,展览资源建设重点应由“物”→“人”转变,并分析了当前我国科技博物馆展览设计能力的短板。     

基于展品资源，引进STEM教育理念，对接课标——科技馆“馆校结合”项目开发的思考与实践

近年来许多科技馆引进了STEM教育项目,但教育理念却与真正的STEM教育有较大差距,并且未能与科技馆展品及其教育的基本特征相结合。为此,本文对美国《新一代科学教育标准》和我国《小学科学课标》的相关内容进行分析,探讨当代科学教育与STEM教育的核心理念,将其与科技馆展品及其教育的基本特征相对照,以“基于实物的体验”“基于实践的探究”及“多样化学习”作为科技馆“馆校结合”项目开发思路,并以《消化大冒险》主题课程为例,介绍了厦门科技馆在课程开发中的探索实践。     

Employing Travel Time to Compare the Value of Competing Cultural Organizations

A number of studies have applied non-market valuation techniques to measure the value of cultural goods. Virtually all of these studies are single case applications and rely mostly on stated preferences, such as contingent valuation techniques. We compare the relative value of multiple, competing goods and show how revealed preferences, in particular travel time, may be used for this. In addition, we account for heterogeneity. Using a unique transaction database with the visiting behavior of 80,821 Museum Cardholders to 108 Dutch museums, we propose a latent class application of a logit model to account for the different distances of museums to the population and for differences in willingness-to-travel.
