Pre-Service Reading Teacher Efficacy and Tutoring: A Review

Teachers’ personal self-efficacy about their ability to motivate students and encourage learning has been shown to affect the classroom they create and student achievement. Therefore, research has been conducted on ways to increase teacher efficacy for in-service and pre-service teachers. One area of research that has been explored is the impact of field experiences on pre-service teachers. This review explores the research on field experiences and tutoring as well as the role these different experiences may play in pre-service teacher efficacy and knowledge of teaching reading. Overall, researchers have found that field experiences have varying effects on efficacy; however, researchers have found that tutoring field experiences in particular have been found to have a positive impact on pre-service teachers’ abilities to teach a particular content (e.g., reading) to the individual student and to put theory into practice. On the whole, this literature review suggests that we currently lack research exploring the possible benefits of simultaneously impacting efficacy and reading knowledge in pre-service teachers through tutoring.

现代道德教育实效研究从教育者施教的角度对道德教育实效性不佳的原因与对策展开了全方位的分析,而忽视受教育者接受教育信息的研究;道德接受理论侧重从理论上揭示道德信息如何被接受,而对接受心理因素与教育信息接受效果的关系研究不足,但这也为道德教育实效性的研究提供了一个新的思路和研究空间.     

新课程背景下中学教师教学效能感相关因素研究

新课程背景下中学教师新的教学任务、新的价值感是否会导致其教学效能感发生变化?而教学效能感是否会影响教师工作满意度?对350名广州市中学教师进行问卷调查发现:在新课程背景下,教师的人口学变量:性别与年龄的交互作用、学历、任教课程、职称、月薪,以及心理学变量:自尊、职业压力,对教学效能感有显著影响。此外,教学效能感、自尊及导致职业压力的某些因素会影响教师工作满意度。

知识产权在现代经济中的作用和地位迅速提升,竞争法作为现代市场经济的基本法,始终保持着对知识产权的密切关注,其两大组成部分反不正当竞争法与反垄断法,一个在知识产权法保护基础之上,对知识产权法未能顾及到的与知识产权相关的领域给予补充保护;另一个在肯定知识产权的垄断性专有权性质的同时,又对超出合理行使界限的知识产权滥用行为给予限制.两者相辅相成,实现了竞争法对知识产权的保护扩张和保护限制.     

Teacher self‐efficacy and successful intelligence among Chinese secondary school teachers in Hong Kong

This study assessed perceptions of self‐efficacy and successful intelligence among 220 Chinese prospective and in‐service secondary school teachers in Hong Kong. Teacher self‐efficacy in six domains – teaching highly able learners, classroom management, guidance and counselling, student engagement, teaching to accommodate diversity, and teaching for enriched learning – was related to the three triarchic dimensions (analytical, creative, and practical) of successful intelligence. Each of the three triarchic abilities was found to contribute independently and in combination to the prediction of the six domains of teacher self‐efficacy. Practical abilities were the most significant predictor of self‐efficacy beliefs in five domains. Teaching teachers for successful intelligence, in strategies to enhance teacher self‐efficacy, is discussed.     

Introducing teaching cases with face-to-face and computer-mediated discussion: Two multi-classroom quasi-experiments

Two studies were conducted in multisection introductory child and adolescent development classes to determine effects of introducing abbreviated teaching case studies that were then discussed either in face-to-face or online formats. Students receiving teaching case studies in either format in both classes showed improved ability to critically analyze probe and final cases compared to control participants. Both case study groups in the child development class also showed increased application of psychological concepts in analyzing new cases. No differences in course knowledge were expected as a function of condition and none were found. Hypothesized case-related increases in efficacy for teaching also were not observed. Results were interpreted as supporting a case analysis approach in educational psychology classes and use of online methods for presentation and discussion of abbreviated cases.
