A Study on Venuti’s "Ethics of Difference"

If translation has such far-reaching social effects such as contributing to social reproduction and change in forming cultural identity,it seems significant to adopt a translation ethical principle to evaluate these effects,confirm whether they are good or bad and consider whether the formed cultural identities are ethical.Venuti resorts to minoritizing translation,argues for releasing "language remainder" which develops into translation ethics--"Ethics of Difference".To put to work these strategies could form cultural identities both for source-language culture and target-language culture.     

Reconstructing Merck's Practical Theory of Communication: The Ethics of Pharmaceutical Sales Representative–Physician Encounters

This essay considers the ways in which Merck, a major pharmaceutical company, trained salespeople to communicate with physicians about its controversial pain drug, Vioxx. Between 2000 and 2004, approximately 60,000 people died while taking the drug. In this study, we analyzed 989 pages of internal training materials that show how Merck taught employees to communicate with physicians. Inspired by Craig and Tracy, we reconstruct the (1) guiding philosophies, (2) assumed problems, and (3) skills and techniques inherent in Merck's practical theory of communication. Using Nilsen's perspective on ethics, we argue that Merck taught a communication approach that obscured physicians' ability to make a significant choice and unnecessarily put more patients' lives at risk. The essay underscores the need to make communication ethics a primary rather than a secondary research concern.

以知识为平台以问题为导向——伦理学公共课教学及与专业课教学的异同

传统的大学理论教学,经常以知识的传授为己任。然而时代的发展需要更多既有理论素养,又能将理论知识贯穿实际生活,解决实际问题的新型人才。这就要求我们在传授知识、建构知识平台的同时,提倡强化学生的问题意识,以问题为导向,从知识的积累上升到思考问题、解决问题的高度。而通过对伦理学公共课的分析以及比较与专业课教学的异同,可以对这一教育理念有更具体的认识。     

论张颐的黑格尔伦理学说研究

1947年,贺麟在给张颐60寿辰的献词中写道:"张真如先生是中国学界专门研究西洋古典哲学的先驱,是北大哲学系多年来注重客观研究哲学史及哲学名著的朴实学风的范成者,也是中国大学里最早专门地、正规地讲授康德哲学及黑格哲学的第一人。["1]3这就是张颐在西方哲学东渐史上的重要地位。其中,他对黑格尔伦理学说的研究,更是西方哲学东渐史上的精彩篇章。     

伦理博弈抑或道德感召——公共关系履行社会责任的路径探析

伦理和道德是公关运作得以成功的重要元素。如果说,伦理是最低限度的道德,道德是最高层次的伦理,那么在公共关系中诉求伦理就可以帮助组织证明其社会存在的合法性,而诉求道德则可以帮助组织建构其在公众心目中的美好愿景,进而对公众形成感召,激励他们去争取美好生活,这是公关能够履行的最高级的社会责任。
