The current study tested the effects of two interview techniques on children's report productivity and accuracy following exposure to suggestion: implicit encouragement (backchanneling, use of children's names) and the putative confession (telling children that a suspect "told me everything that happened and wants you to tell the truth"). One hundred and forty-three, 3–8-year-old children participated in a classroom event. One week later, they took part in a highly suggestive conversation about the event and then a mock forensic interview in which the two techniques were experimentally manipulated. Greater use of implicit encouragement led to increases, with age, in children's narrative productivity. Neither technique improved or reduced children's accuracy. No increases in errors about previously suggested information were evident when children received either technique. Implications for the use of these techniques in child forensic interviews are discussed.  相似文献

This essay examines accounts of visits to Civil War prison sites, cemeteries, and battlefields that were generated by the popular speaker Anna E. Dickinson during an 1875 lecture tour of Southern states. An ardent Unionist, Dickinson visited places that she believed to exemplify Union sacrifice and Confederate wrongdoing. We analyze her accounts—captured in letters to her mother—in order to understand how this rhetorically skilled public figure used these visits as opportunities for invention and interpretation, generating textual responses oriented toward public memory-making. We argue that her letters enact what we call a pilgrim-critic persona, which both demonstrates an affective connection to places and undertakes a critical investigation of what happened there. Employing the concept of the pilgrim-critic enables this analysis to contribute to rhetorical studies of public memory by highlighting the inventional resources used when visitors interpret their experiences of memory places.  相似文献

We evoke here events that took place in an ordinary school, the Teacher Training College in Coimbra (Portugal), during the on-going revolutionary process (processo revolucionário em curso; PREC), in an attempt to understand people’s actions within the collective becoming of a certain time and place, and to grasp how memory works as a narrative of the recollection of events connected with the course of the individual and the society. We equate the issue of memory – as the essential dimension, when collecting information, of the construction of individual and collective identity, embodied by the relevant social frameworks – with the feeling, relevance and interpretation of such memory at the time of its recovery. We listened to the memories revived during the interviews and to the narratives reconstructed, either through our intervention fostering the active search for memories, or actively listening and participating in their stories, focusing on their personal experiences as teachers or students of that institution, and scrutinising the personal processes of reconstruction, the expression of a claimed and overt memory, which feeds, rhetorically, on an experienced ideology. Memory is particularly invoked here, because it takes us on a journey to the past, while exploring the recollections of people who experienced unique events which cannot be captured nor reproduced in any other way. 内存数据库存在于易失性内存中,数据较易丢失,故障恢复部件至关重要。考虑系统环境限制,设计了一种利用日志与影子页面技术相结合的系统恢复模型,讨论了日志协议、模糊检查点策略、重装算法、恢复技术等模块的实现方法。该方法无需额外硬件的支持,日志记录数量少,检查点与事务处理并发执行,重装和恢复过程快速,极大地提高了内存数据库的恢复效率。  相似文献
