Abstract

Introduction: Previous studies have attempted to link the insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism in the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene with the variability in muscle strength responses to resistance training (RT); however, the literature is inconclusive. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the association between the ACE I/D genotype and muscle strength response to a RT program in young men.

Methods: 124 men (22±2.6 years; 174.8±6.5cm; 71.5±13.8 kg) without resistance training experience were tested before and after 11 weeks of five whole-body RT exercises (bench press, seated row, knee extension, knee flexion and sit ups). The bench press 1RM test was used to assess upper-body muscle strength and the isokinetic knee extensor peak torque (PT) was used as a measure of lower-body strength.

Results: At baseline, there were no differences among ACE genotype for 1RM load (54±11.7 kg for II, 58.5±8.9 kg for ID and 52.3±12.2 kg for DD) or knee extensor peak torque (PT) (220.1±36.8 N·m for II, 209.4 ±44.4 N·m for ID and 199.7±32.4 N·m for DD). Moreover, ACE genotype was not associated with lower-body (7.1±10.5%, 15.7±10.4% and 14.1±22.7% for II, ID and DD, respectively) or upper-body strength gains (16.2±8.9%, 14.5±11.3% and 21.9±17.1% for II, ID and DD, respectively) in response to RT.

Conclusion: The ACE I/D genotype was not associated with the muscle strength responses to RT.  相似文献

采用实验法对58名健康儿童进行膝关节屈伸肌测试。等速测试采用了3种测试速度。结果表明:3种不同测试速度中,在低速测试中峰力矩值最大,高速测试中峰力矩值最小,儿子童膝关节峰值力矩下降趋势与成年人一致。左右侧峰值力矩比较结果与成人相反,左侧大于右侧。屈伸峰值力矩的比例F/E>0.7,与国内外对成人的研究不一致,与优秀运动员比值相一致。男女儿童低速和中速的测试中没有性别差异,高速测试中有显著性差异。  相似文献

在现有条件下为寻求等速运动肌电图研究的方法,探讨股四头肌各头在膝关节不同角度、不同运动速度时肌电变化的特点,以16名男青年为试验对象,分别在BIODEX等速测力计及膝关节练习器上测定坐位伸膝肌力和股四头肌表面3个头的肌电图,对肌电积分值等指标进行分析。初步了解了等速运动肌力、肌电指标的变化规律;发现用肌电积分值百分比来分析股四头肌表面3个头对伸膝发力的贡献,虽有很大个体差异,但不同运动速度、不同关节运动角度、不同侧肢体等因素对其均无明显影响,可用于康复功能评定。此外,还对不同伸膝练习的作用和膝关节急慢性损伤等速运动肌电图的改变进行了初步探讨。  相似文献

With the air gap magnetic field distribution of surface mounted permanent magnet (PM) motors obtained using an analytical technique, the instantaneous electromagnetic torque and its corresponding components are investigated with the Maxwell stress tensor method. Accurate results can easily be achieved using the proposed method without using the tedious finite element analysis (FEA). In this paper, the electromagnetic torque of a surface mounted PM motor with two phases energized is decomposed into four torque components. This technique is useful not only for the design and optimization of the permanent magnet motor, but also for the choice of control strategy.  相似文献

There are few studies on the relationship between skeletal muscle mass and balance in the young ages. We investigated the relationship between appendicular skeletal muscle mass, isokinetic muscle strength of lower extremity, and balance among healthy young men using relative skeletal muscle index. Thirty men were grouped according to relative appendicular skeletal muscle mass index: higher skeletal muscle group (n = 15) and lower skeletal muscle group (n = 15). Static and dynamic balance abilities were measured using the following: a test where participants stood on one leg with eyes closed, a modified Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction on Balance (mCTSIB) with eyes open and eyes closed, a stability test, and limits of stability test. The muscle strength of lower extremities was measured with an isokinetic analyser in hip, knee, and ankle joints. Participants with higher appendicular skeletal muscle mass were significantly more stable in maintaining dynamic balance than those with lower appendicular skeletal muscle mass. Moreover, appendicular skeletal muscle mass index was positively correlated with dynamic balance ability. Participants with higher appendicular skeletal muscle mass had stronger strength in the lower extremity, and there were significant differences in the isokinetic torque ratios between groups. From these results, it can be inferred that higher appendicular skeletal muscle mass relates to muscle strength and the alteration in the peak torque ratio of the lower extremity, contributing to the maintenance of balance.  相似文献
