Calculating the Return on Investment (ROI) for Library Consortia

This column focuses on formal collaboration and networking among libraries through consortia. It offers in-depth examinations of issues facing modern library consortia including (but not limited to) e-resource licensing, ebooks, next generation integrated library systems, shared print archiving, shared digital repositories, governance and other relevant topics. Library consortia are under increasing scrutiny regarding their value to member libraries. Most consortia offer a suite of services which can be valued either quantitatively or qualitatively to determine a return on investment for money and time put into consortial activities. Various common consortial activities are discussed with thoughts regarding their value to local libraries. Recommendations and suggestions are provided on how to perform a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA)/Return on Investment (ROI).     

中国音乐治疗文献的统计分析

音乐治疗作为康复领域的新兴疗法,正日益成为当前研究的热点。近年来,中国音乐治疗研究文献数量正不断上升,越来越多的研究者把关注点放在了临床运用领域,然而随着音乐治疗临床应用的不断展开,很多细节却暴露了中国音乐治疗发展中存在的不足。综述了中国音乐治疗研究论文概况,采用文献计量学方法,以频次和百分比为主要统计方式从各种指标入手定量分析中国音乐治疗研究文献,并就目前中国音乐治疗中存在的问题进行讨论。     

Using Six Sigma and Lean in the Library

Businesses have long relied on a variety of strategies to improve quality, efficiency, and service. Some ideas that have persisted over time are Six Sigma and Lean. While Six Sigma, originally intended for manufacturing, focuses on quality and Lean mainly addresses waste, many of the tools and principles involved can also apply to libraries. This article will review the literature on Lean and Six Sigma as they are used in business and then as they have been used in libraries. The resulting discussion will cover how the principles can be applied to better connect with stakeholders by mapping processes and discovering what is value added (VA) versus nonvalue added (NVA), anticipating failure modes using the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) framework, and implementing control plans to maintain quality processes and service.     

济南市县（市）区科技创新能力评价研究

从济南市打造全国重要的区域性科技创新中心和创新型城市建设的实践出发,借鉴国内外科技创新评价的 理论和方法,参照济南市县（市）区、高新区科技创新进展情况通报的指标体系,构建济南市县（市）区科技创新能力评 价指标体系。采用灰关联分析法确定指标权重,并选用2012、2013、2014 年度数据进行实证分析,对各县（市）区的科 技创新能力进行综合评价和一级指标评价。     

职业技能大赛对高职学生的影响力分析——以广东理工职业学院为例

为对职业技能大赛对高职学生产生的影响进行实证分析,本文通过问卷调查采集数据,对参赛过和未参赛过学生的综合情况进行Logistic回归分析,对三年级学生的就业情况以及学生参赛前后的情况均进行多元方差分析,结果显示大赛对学生的专业认识、自学能力、就业处境等多方面存在积极影响,而对学生的创新精神、自信心和竞争意识等方面则影响不大。通过分析明确了＂以赛促教＂的教学活动观,同时为高职院校教育改革、大赛制度改革和调整方向提供了参考。     

The Potential of Conjoint Analysis for Communication Research

Surveys on choices oftentimes rely on Likert-type scales. However, they prevent researchers from identifying the relative importance of different stimulus features for the choice decision. Here, it is shown that conjoint analysis offers a variety of advantages emerging from its use of questions that force the subject to trade off conflicting attribute levels. This study discusses some problems of Likert-type scale measures and shows when conjoint analysis may solve some of these problems. Differences between measurements are illustrated in a uses and gratifications study, assessing convergent validity on Likert-type scale measures with traditional conjoint analysis and choice-based conjoint analysis. Results show that subjects prefer “cognitive needs” by Likert-type scale measures against “tension release needs” by both conjoint analyses. The different outcome is independent from linguistic variation and from dual-process models of information processing. Implications for communication research are discussed.     

基于实证的中小学生学业质量分析报告——以江苏连云港市为例

中小学生学业质量是教育教学质量的重要组成部分,连云港市义务教育阶段学生学业质量监测与问卷实证数据的分析,反映出中小学学业质量整体达标率、优分率较好,学生基础知识与基本技能较为扎实,教与学方式发生深刻变化,学校办学行为进一步规范。同时,该报告也反映出学生解决问题能力不高、区域内质量不均衡、教师教学策略与本体知识缺失、学业质量背景环境不理想等问题。为此,本文提出要发挥质量监测功能、引领教学行为跟进、研发学业质量标准、推进教育现代化创建和完善质量监测反馈系统等建议,以引导学生、教师、学校、社会树立正确的教育观、教学观、评价观和质量观。     

我国城市交通拥堵问题的供给与需求分析

随着经济的发展,城市公私车辆数量急剧增长,相对而言,由于土地的固定供给及诸多客观条件的限制,交通基础设施的增长异常缓慢。二者的矛盾不可避免地引发了城市拥堵问题,并且呈不断恶化的趋势。如何缓解交通拥堵问题已成为城市管理部门亟待解决的重要课题。     

内容和形式的统一—及物性分析视角下的古诗英译

功能语法认为语义系统通过词汇语法系统来实现,因此古诗译本在措辞和结构方面的选择必然影响语义和文体特征的传达。及物性分析作为最为流行的语篇分析手段之一,能有效促进古诗译本内容和形式的统一,具有可操作性,表现在:及物性系统关于过程类型、参与者和环境成分的划分为译者提供了客观参照;及物性成分的不规则分布体现"失衡"或"失协"的文体特征,为译者传达无形的文体特征提供了有形尺度。
