浅析高校实践教学模式的构建

文章主要论述了高校实践教学的内涵,分析了目前高校实践教学的问题,并从课堂理论讲授、专业技能培养和企业实训平台三方面提出高校实践教学模式的思路,最后提出实践教学模式顺利实施的保障措施。

“2+1”顶岗实习模式下装饰设计专业教学改革初探

“2+1办学模式”的推行,较大程度上改变了传统教学格局。使原本强调系统化的专业教育,改为以技能为中心、理论为技能服务的点式教学,各课程与技能间的纵向联系变为横向联系,一定程度上加大了教学难度。对装饰设计专业教学进行合理规划,将会更有效地将各项核心课程和技能融会贯通,变分散式课程教育为整体式专业技能教育,更好地培养学生全面的专业认知度和认同感、熟悉工作流程、掌握实操方法,使学生真正做到“毕业即能上岗”,提高优质就业率,为学生在专业岗位上的进一步发展打下良好基础,实现中职教育的价值。     

高职服装陈列人才培养模式的探析

服装陈列师继服装设计师之后成为新时期业内的焦点,但由于没有科学系统的职业教育,没有足够的历史积累可供学习和参考,更没有一套成熟的模式可以套用或复制,国内的陈列行业还很艰难。本文系统阐述了服装陈列设计这一学科在国内外的研究现状以及行业应用情况,对目前国内培训陈列师的教学形式、方法和内容做重点研究,就如何提高陈列师的专业素质,专业技能做系统的归纳总结。信息化教学平台的建立提升了人才培养质量。     

“Ah,I know why…”: children developing understandings through engaging with a picture book

This article describes part of a study that explored the responses of nine‐ and ten‐year‐old children during a picturebook read aloud in a small group setting in a New Zealand classroom. The read aloud was interactive, where the participants were encouraged to respond to the book and to each other throughout the session. The authors created a framework for analysing the responses, adapting the model of Lawrence Sipe (2008) with its five categories of literary understanding, by expanding on the analytical category to enable a finer analysis of the responses. This article discusses the children's depth of thinking and the understandings they developed as they engaged with the read aloud. It also describes how the adapted framework allowed a closer analysis of these understandings, including the way the elements of art used in the illustrations contributed to the children's ideas. The findings suggest ways picturebooks can be used to promote children's thinking and how teachers can guide discussion about a complex text. Implications for use of the framework in further research are discussed.

The Challenges of Teaching the Introductory LIS Management Course

Teaching the introductory LIS management course may be the most challenging assignment for LIS professors because of the breadth of the subject, the probabilistic nature of management principles, and the differing management environments of LIS organizations. The best teaching strategy is to describe honestly to students the benefits and limitations of the course and to focus on the achievable objectives of introducing students to core management concepts, providing skill enhancement, and encouraging them to evaluate their management potential. The article discusses the difficulties of teaching leadership skills, the limits imposed by student competencies, and the impact of the professor's background on course content.     

Beyond the Classroom: Fostering Soft Skills in Pre-Professional LIS Organizations

Are LIS graduates being adequately prepared to work in the information workplace? While students are absorbing valuable knowledge, library school curricula do not foster the essential soft skills students need to thrive in their post-graduate careers. However by being an active member of a graduate student organization, future LIS professionals can gain and hone effective soft skills, such as communication, initiative, curiosity, understanding, and the means to deal with mistakes, while adopting responsibilities that will all ultimately translate to success in the professional workplace, particularly in their first positions following graduation.     

Heeding the Signals: Applying Web best Practices when Google recommends

Google is the single largest driver of traffic to library Web sites and digital repositories, and librarians would do well to listen when the search giant reveals information about its practices or makes recommendations. Recently, Google announced that it would begin to favor Web sites that use the secure hypertext transfer protocol (HTTPS) in its search results rankings. HTTPS encrypts data transmission and one of Google's stated reasons for this change is to help make the Web safer and minimize data theft. Similar announcements by Google have sometimes been ignored by librarians, to the peril of the visibility and use of library products and services on the Web.
