翻译中的跨文化意识

语言是文化的载体，翻译不仅是语言的转换，更是文化的传真。由于不同文化背景的人们的表达方式、社会生活差异、宗教历史背景、传统文化观念等几个方面的因素所造成的文化差异对翻译的影响，译者除了要具备扎实的基本功之外，跨文化意识的培养也是十分重要的。

As it is believed that students＇attitude towards teachers is fundamentally significant in teaching and learning, this study is to examine wheather there exisis consensual and individual stereotypic beliefs about foreign teachers among Chinese college students. And it further asseses the content and favorablity of the stereotpyes if they exist.

Sensitivity of the χ2 Goodness‐of‐Fit Test to the Choice of Classes

The χ² goodness‐of‐fit test is often one of the first tests of hypotheses encountered by students. When some of the expected frequencies are small, classes need to be combined. A real‐life example is given that illustrates a surprising sensitivity of the results of the test to the way in which such combinations are chosen.

中西方文化的差异决定了中西方“面子”文化的差异,差异主要表现在概念上、内容上、保全机制上以及所体现的价值观上。西方“面子”文化以消极面子为主,中国“面子”文化以积极面子为主,西方文化中的消极面子在中国文化中是不存在的,中国“面子”文化中所包含的道德因素在西方文化中也是没有的,我们应了解这种差异,以便能顺利地进行跨文化交际。     

Action research as a school-based strategy in intercultural professional development for teachers

Teacher professional development is a key factor for transforming professional and school culture. This article describes a case study undertaken in a Spanish school during the 2007-2008 academic year. Our aim is to explain how action research methodology was applied to encourage professional and school culture towards an intercultural and inclusive approach. Our results show that the training process challenged teachers’ pre-existing deficit theory perspectives and empowered them as leaders for school change. The conclusions identify the key factors that enabled teachers to engage in critical reflection, and to implement strategies for collaborative work and community participation in school.     

基于独立公理和可变灵敏度的稳健设计方法研究

公理设计与稳健设计的结合能系统有效地提升系统设计质量。本文基于独立公理分析了功能稳健性与耦合度之间的关系。利用可变灵敏度方法建立非线性系统的线性结构模型,利用变量灵敏度矩阵来分析非线性项和模型不确定性的影响。采用敏感性指数反映功能需求对设计参数变化的敏感程度。非线性系统稳健设计的多目标通过相容决策支持问题法得到均衡处理,以实现功能需求对参数和模型变化的稳健性。算例分析表明提出的设计方法有效。     

An Intercultural Partnership for Social Justice in the Rio Grande Valley TX Colonias

This article details how an intercultural partnership between a grassroots nonprofit organization and a critical cultural communication scholar was forged and maintained via complementary epistemic stances of engagement. The NPO members’ stance was grounded in la consciencia broadly defined and border logics linked to the use of emotive narratives and strategic Spanish, while for myself an ethic of speaking with was comprised of self-reflexivity, self-examination of positionalities, dialogic relationship building, and an enactment of care in representing community members. Ultimately, tuning into the importance of decoloniality via an ethic of speaking with and the necessary strategy of delinking allowed for two intercultural partners to work together toward social justice in the borderlands.
