A methodology for the identification of glass panes of different origin in a single stained glass window: Application on two 13th century windows

The chemical composition of 11 glass panes originating from two 13th century non-figurative windows were analyzed by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy–Energy Dispersive X-ray system (SEM-EDX). The windows were discovered in the back-wall of the triforium during the restoration of the choir of the cathedral St. Michael and St. Gudule in Brussels (Belgium). In order to determine if these windows were fabricated with glass of different origin or not, the compositional difference between the panes were compared with the variation in composition as a result of the following causes: (1) compositional fluctuation between panes cut from the same sheet of glass, (2) compositional fluctuation caused when panes are cut from different sheets that were made with the same batch, (3) compositional fluctuation caused when the glass is made from different batches at the same production center, and (4) compositional fluctuation as a result of glass produced at different fabrication centers.

VRay渲染器的材质初探

VRay渲染器是主要外挂于3ds Max平台的一款全局光渲染器,它提供了一种特殊的材质-vraymtl-vray材质,通过对VRay的金属材质、玻璃材质和布料材质的研究,应用不同的纹理贴图,控制其反射和折射,增加凹凸贴图和置换贴图,对反射参数和折射参数所起到的决定性的作用有更深刻的了解。可以制作出三维室内照片级效果,从而自由地控制渲染的质量与速度。     

TiN薄膜常压化学气相沉积及动力学研究

No room at the top? The glass wall for professional services managers in pre-1992 English universities

Pre-1992 English universities are changing the way they appoint their deputy and pro-vice-chancellors (PVCs). Traditionally, PVC posts were filled by internal secondment from within the professoriate, but these days an increasing number are appointed by means of external open competition involving advertisement and/or executive search. So has this ‘opening up’ of PVC positions created new career progression opportunities for professional services managers? Findings from a census, online survey and interviews with a range of senior university managers suggest not. Despite the PVC role becoming more managerial, those getting the jobs remain overwhelmingly career academics. Professional services managers confront a glass wall, excluded from consideration by a non-negotiable requirement for academic credibility. Aware they have little chance of getting a PVC job, they are unlikely to apply. The continued monopolisation of PVC posts by academic managers represents a form of social closure that serves to maintain their elite status.

基于机器视觉的汽车角窗玻璃混线检测算法

针对汽车玻璃角窗生产线上轮廓、材质与厚度相近似的汽车玻璃容易产生混淆的问题,提出融合轮廓特征与颜色特征的汽车玻璃混线检测算法。通过改进的几何矩匹配算法实现汽车玻璃的轮廓检测;利用色彩特征实现汽车玻璃的材质与厚度的检测,结合轮廓特征与色彩特征实现了汽车玻璃的混线检测。实验证明,提出的混线检测算法有效提高了汽车玻璃混线检测的准确率,有利于提升汽车玻璃检测的自动化水平。
