经典图籍 遗韵流芳——《〈坤舆全图〉·〈坤舆图说〉》述评

1674年南怀仁绘制的《坤舆全图》及编撰的《坤舆图说》为传世经典,弥足珍贵。最近由河北大学历史学院整理出版的《〈坤舆全图〉·〈坤舆图说〉》一书,在原图的基础上,重组排列成小图序列,跨幅释文(图)处理文字分布,对个别字词统一校正,规范处理。同时在版本选用上,择善而从。本书的出版是古籍再造的一项新的成果,嘉惠学林,也为当前精品古籍的出版提供一定的借鉴和参考。     

A world-class archival achievement: the People’s Republic of China archivists’ success in opening the Ming-Qing central-government archives, 1949–1998

This article describes the first half century of the Communist government’s supervision and management of the central-government archives of the last two dynasties. Immediately with the Communist ascent to power in 1949, the new government took great interest in assembling and protecting the country’s archival documents, readying the Ming-Qing archives for access to scholars, and preparing for publication of selected materials. By the 1980s Beijing’s Number One Historical Archives, in charge of the largest holding of Ming-Qing documents, had become the first Chinese authority to complete a full sorting and preliminary catalogues for such a collection. Moreover, to facilitate searches, an attempt has recently begun to create a subject-heading system for these and other holdings in the country. In the first half century’s final decades, foreign researchers were admitted for the first time and tours and international exchanges began to take place.

Using a Blended Group Learning Approach to Increase Librarians’ Motivation and Skills to Publish

While there is considerable research on interventions to support academic staff in writing for publication, there is limited literature on writing interventions for librarians. This article explores the potential of a blended learning approach to support librarians to develop the motivation and skills to write for publication. The program combines three elements: a formal writing seminar; a structured series of online exercises and mentoring support; and two peer-feedback days. The article suggests that the combination of online and face-to-face activities has the potential to be a sustainable model for helping to develop librarians as academic writers. It suggests that this type of model could provide a context, which is currently lacking, for librarians to develop their identity and skills as academic writers.

19世纪末20世纪初汉译新闻史著作考述

汉译新闻史著作《泰西新报源流表》,在松本君平《新闻学》汉译本出版之前的1898年已经刊行;1903-1904年间,坊间还可以见到《报章源流》一书。这两部译作与松本君平的《新闻学》和休曼的《应用新闻学》一起,在19世纪末、20世纪初开始了对中国人的历史、理论和应用新闻学的最初的启蒙。

为深入了解高校科技学术期刊在转型时期遇到的问题,对江苏省高校主办的116种科技学术期刊的出版周期、出版规模、数字化进展与国际化程度进行调查与分析。结果表明:江苏高校学术期刊出版周期以季刊、双月刊为主,单刊出版比例高,网站信息服务薄弱,期刊国际化程度较低。应通过有效的资源整合和数字化平台建设,以及扩展国际化视野打造精品期刊,促进江苏高校科技学术期刊集群出版,加快数字化转型,提高国际影响力。
