Gifted Education and Counselling in Canada

Education in Canada is determined at the provincial level of jurisdiction. Each province and territory has a unique system of legislation and policy, although most provinces view the education of gifted students as a category of service provision under special education. The first section of this paper provides a brief, general overview of key themes that emerge from an analysis of the relevant Education Ministry documents and literature concerning gifted education and counselling within the Canadian context. Where appropriate, the particular province(s) and/or territory(s) associated with the themes is noted. The second section highlights the work of Canadian scholars most relevant to counsellors working with gifted students. A brief review of recommended counselling needs, goals, and practices for the gifted is presented in the conclusion.

中国电大开放教育招生规模影响因素实证分析

我国现代远程教育发展迅速,电大开放教育本、专科招生规模逐年扩大,为促进远程教育规模经济的实现,有必要了解招生规模受哪些因素影响。本研究以相关统计年鉴数据为基础,从学校办学条件、师资数量和质量、地方经济社会发展水平三个方面,利用多元线性回归分析它们对电大开放教育招生规模的影响。研究发现,显著的影响因素包括校外师资数量、地区人口数以及地区人均受教育年限等,而表征办学质量的相关变量并不显著,造成不显著的原因主要是远程教育自身的特点以及远程学习者的特殊性。希望本研究对后续远程教育办学规模的控制和质量提升能提供参考。     

加拿大英语外来语研究

加拿大英语是英语的一个地域变体,具有鲜明的特征。加拿大英语的形成大致通过三种途径：继承、创新与借用。与其它英语变体相比,加拿大英语的借用更加广泛和频繁。加拿大是一个多民族、多文化和多语言的国家,这为加拿大英语大量吸纳外来语提供了前提。外来语的进入遵循一定的原则和规律。加拿大外来语的进入主要通过直借、转借、半借、译借等方式。     

Color,Caste and the Public Sphere

Broadcast network newsrooms are powerful gatekeepers, setting cultural standards and attitudes for America at large via the stories they tell and the images they project. In 1968, the federal Kerner Commission chastised American news media for ignoring race, and seeing through the “white man’s eyes” and speaking from “the white perspective.” Grounded in critical and cultural studies and organizational theory, this study analyzes the experiences of 23 post-Civil Rights generation black journalists working in broadcast newsrooms who continue to struggle against anti-black cultural norms and attitudes at great physical, psychological and financial cost.

课程教学团队建设是整合和优化电大师资力量,提高电大师资利用率,促进电大系统教师队伍建设,提高开放教育教学质量的重要措施。本文以湖北广播电视大学为例,分析省级电大政治理论课教学团队建设存在的问题,提出加强团队建设的对策。
